Title: [Suggestion] Visual for Ice Block Generators in MMBCOL
Post by: LlamaHombre on October 16, 2015, 05:11:12 PM

As demonstrated in this video, the generators in Cold Man's stage take in particles from the top and jerk around a bit when charging.
Under the assumption that the layout remains the same between v4c and v5a, this alone should work wonders for clarity in MM8BDM stage, where the audio cue doesn't mean too much when two generators are situated right next to each other.

They could spawn the Bubble Man spray objects when producing ice blocks, then make them despawn. I'm not sure if that would be seen from afar, though, so it would really help if they wobbled as Llama stated.

I was thinking just a new actor entirely, to be honest.
I'm also surprised this wasn't done during v4's development.

Gonna move this to pending, we could always use a bit more clarity when it comes to core development.

Figured out a full animation for this stuff exists.

Compare the machines to the one in core, they're the same.
Thanks for moving this, though.

If I am still here, could you maybe make the ice blocks go lower?Like if you hug the wall, the ice block will go right over you(I am talking about the machines in the outside of course).

I finally got around to applying this and I was wondering if this really is enough of an indication:

It's definitely easier to see against the higher points in the sky, which is where it's currently used in the map, but I'm just worried about whether or not people will be able to see it from a distance.
Keep in mind it will be moving, and has been scaled to a larger degree than other objects to emphasize it as a marker, but the question remains:
Is this enough?

[Note: direct suggestions about the map itself to this thread (http://cutstuff.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=9903), as MMBCOL has been a map that's been up for debate for a while.]
