R_InstallSpriteLump Problems
« on: January 20, 2020, 11:11:55 PM »
OK so I installed a bunch of custom skins and now MM8BDM won't start. It tells me there are "Bad Frame Characters" in lump AOBC2R6R and execution. And then it tells me that in R_InstallSprite, Sprite AOBC frame R is "missing rotations". HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS?! JUST TELL ME "Hey fam, this skin is causing issues. I'd remove it if I were you," instead of SPEAKING A WHOLE NEW LANGUAGE. Please help...

Just saying which skin causes a problem, without the additional information, wouldn't be enough info for a spriter to fix the issue.
That being said, what all skins did you download? From both examples that you provided, whatever skin uses AOBC as its identifier seems to be the culprit.

I downloaded all the skins made by Kapus, Dimpsy, Hilman170499, HellHawkX, Sacat, Geno, and Bass44 (You can find them on the User-made Skins page of the official MM8BDM wiki). Maybe it might just be because there are so many skins...? IDK.

I might just delete all 322 of the skins... I probably went overboard on the skins... plus, how am I going to find whatever skin uses AOBC as its identifier?

I actually think there might be a solution; store all the skins in another folder. When the game won't start, I'll be able to find the culprit!
