Anything Goes / Back to School

So, yeah. Many of us have less than a week before classes begin again (and some of us have already began, mind you). I thought it would be a good idea to get a thread going. Concerns about the new year? Something in particular you're looking forward to? Particular goals and such in set? Feel free to discuss all that here.

So I just got my classes schedule this morning. I've been told Sophomore year is the easiest by far, but I'm pretty skeptical. I guess we'll have to see what the year holds.

I'm not fond of starting new threads, since I'm usually sure they won't last long, but let's see where this goes... Not sure this deserves its own thread, but it's better than spamming in Anyone's Art Thread.

I've been getting into animating recently, so I've got a few GIFs that you can use as avatars. I plan on making many, many more, so don't think this is all I'll ever have.

Help & Editing / Needin' help with this actor

So, I was attempting to make a Beat actor that just sits there- kinda like Rush, or Eddie- and flaps his wings...
The game doesn't seem to like this one frame here, but it's the exact same offsets as the ones in the main pk3...
I'll get this whenever I try to launch the map with Beat in it:

Fyone used nearly identical coding to make an idle Tango actor, and it worked perfectly.
Then I used it as a reference to make an idle Treble actor. That also worked perfectly.
Does anyone have any idea what went wrong with Beat?

Mega Man Discussion / Rearranging the Weaknesses?

If you could rearrange the weakness order from ANY Mega Man game, how would you do it?

I'll start off... by rearranging Mega Man 8!

Flame Sword on Frost Man (Melting ice, duh...)
Ice Wave on Aqua Man (Freezing water, yep!)
Water Balloon on Clown Man (1: Water + Electricity = BAM! 2: A clown that loses his grip? Bye-bye...)
Thunder Claw on Search Man (Make BOTH heads go nuts!)
Homing Sniper on Tengu Man (A flying target? Pffft!)
Tornado Hold on Astro Man (ANOTHER flying target? Pffft!)
Astro Crush on Grenade Man (He likes being hurt, so why not crush him?)
Flash Bomb on Sword Man (Blastin' him and his lair to bits!)

Or, to make the REGULAR weaknesses tie in to all 8 at once...

Astro Crush on Grenade Man
Frost, Tengu, and Clown are normal...
Thunder Claw on Aqua Man
Sword, Search, and Astro are normal...

As for that DAMN Green Devil, I'd LOVE to see a Flash Bomb blow him to gooey pieces!

Update to v1b!
Changelog:
• Removed cages
• Moved previously caged weapons to an inaccessible location
• Fixed texture quirk in Flashman's room
• Made Reggae's juice bar fully impassible
• Added 3 more beds to Darkman's room

Not much has changed, but I badly had to fix the Time Stopper exploit.

Maps / Rockman 8 FC: Tengu Man's tileset

I'm sure it's been floating around Cutstuff as to when the Mega Man 8 update will be released. I understand this won't just happen on it's own, so I went and ripped most of the tiles from Tengu Man's stage ("most" is up for debate). So... if anyone would like try to map with these, go ahead. I know there's a Music Wad for this game as part of the MM8-10 Music Wad, and the weapons were made. I think there's skins on the wiki, so I suppose all that needs done are the maps and whatnot. So, here it is... it's my first rip of ANYTHING, so don't expect anything special. If someone HAS already started ripping, PLEASE disregard this and lock the topic. I don't wanna bother anybody.



These tiles came from v3.12 beta. The most recent release, I think...

MM8BDM Discussion / Time Man and Oil Man in Chapter 1?

I feel like Chapter 1 needs more... that what it's got now. So, I'd like to know what others think. Should Time Man and Oil Man, their weapons, and their maps be added in to Chapter 1 of MM8BDM?

Help & Editing / A Noob and his Skyboxes

Yeah, so I'm pretty new to mapping. I've learned several neat tricks, but there's one thing that always seems to elude me: SKYBOXES! So, I'll bet people have asked this a billion times, but... how do I make 'em? It's driving me CRAZY!  :? And if this isn't the right place for this question, where can I get it answered?
