General Gaming Discussion / FiniteZero plays games for no real reason.

Yep, this is more or less me doing playthroughs... Just simply that. I will not be taking requests, I'll simply do what I feel like.

General Gaming Discussion / Games You Like That Everybody Else Hates
« on: August 18, 2011, 10:28:34 PM »
Now, the point of this topic is to state games that you personally like, but you feel that you're the only one that does. I'll give some of the games I like, but feel that nobody else does. Try to explain WHY you like them.

Mega Man and Mega Man 3 (DOS)
-While the controls are lousy and there's no music, if you fix the control issue (which is easy enough), the game is actually not half-bad. The stages are vastly different from typical Mega Man stages, true, but I kinda like that there's a path you have to follow, but it sorta feels like you're exploring, and I find that kinda neat.

Sonic R
-Music aside, I love this game. I guess it helps that I grew up with it. I like the courses, I like unlocking new racers, I just love this game, period.

Sonic 3D
-While the gimmick of collecting Flickies to progress is rather annoying, everything else about the game is neat. There's a hack that removes the Flicky component of the game, and I feel that hack is what the game should have been. Expand the levels a bit more, and you'd have a fresh new feel of a Sonic game that simply works.

Mega Man 8
-It's a good Mega Man game. The gimmicks I feel keep the gameplay fresh, even if they don't always work exactly as they should. However, I agree that the voice acting is awful, although I love Dr. Fudd- I mean, Dr. Light's voice. XD

Help & Editing / Quick question about removing weapons
« on: August 14, 2011, 10:45:56 PM »
I'm not exactly sure how to have it so that a player spawns without a weapon... I've seen the effect in the Light Lab map of the campain. How is it done, exactly?

Mega Man Discussion / What if Robot Masters had their own game?
« on: July 29, 2011, 11:43:53 PM »
This is just a hypothetical thread. The question is, if a certain Robot Master had their own game, what game series would it be like?

For example, Quick Man's game would be like Sonic, because both are fast.

Post your ideas!

Here, have all the Wily Capsules from 1-10. (Note: The 1-3 ones are the ships that Wily uses in those games, since the capsule boss fights didn't start until MM4. Also, they do not have rotations, sorry. I am several things, an artist is not one of them.)

MYSTERY MUSIC PACK! :D
The codes for the tracks are of the MYS#MUS format, from 1 to 17.

This simply replaces the item pickups in the levels with 8-bit versions of those from the DOS games. Inspired by geno's mods that do similar things.

This is Buffer Man, from Rockman Peercast. Yeah, he's a Bubble Man edit.

It's Dr. Eggman, using sprites from Sonic Drift.

And now, because yes, a Sonic 06 Character Theme Pack, with 8-bit remixes I whipped up myself. It's rather tiny.

SNCMUS - His World
SHDMUS - All Hail Shadow
SLVMUS - Dreams of an Absolution

General Gaming Discussion / Woodian Remix Album (Volume A)
« on: July 12, 2011, 09:40:30 AM »
I do like to remix music in my spare time. I do it a lot, actually. So, I figured "why not" and I decided to take all the remixes and "release" them. Download, listen, and tell me what you think. Let me know which ones you like, which ones aren't as good, and, most importantly, why.

I placed a few in a different folder for some reason, and forgot to add them in. It's volume A.5!

Mega Man Discussion / PlantMan's Mind (Phase: Set Design)
« on: June 26, 2011, 10:58:27 PM »
Well, some of you have probably seen a little show called Freeman's Mind on YouTube. If you haven't, I urge you to check it out. It's great! Anyways, I've been thinking, and using Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch, it would be neat to make a similar show, staring Plant Man. The thing is, I can't do this alone. I will star this (I'll play Plant Man), but I'll need others to play the voices of the other characters.

I decided to go with my "errand" plot. Now, for the next stage: Set design. I'll use maps already in existance for the most part, but I will need to have an overworld map, and it will have to be pretty large.

What is this, you might ask? Well, The Wily Wars was a Genesis game that had the games Mega Man 1-3 in it, with upgraded graphics and music. This project is to say, what if there was a Wily Wars 2? Now, I may not be making the actual game, but I am making the music. I will post updates as this comes along, and when I complete one game, I will post that game's soundtrack. The only thing I need that I do not have: Epic album art, of course. (SoundFont created by The 8th Bit.)

Soundtrack has been completed! Download it here.

And now, I finished the Wily Wars 3 soundtrack. Get it here.

One other thing I made: A Redux (Whatever that means, I just think it sounds cool) Of the original three games. So, yeah, you can obtain it here.

Cutstuff Discussion and Feedback / A creative idea
« on: April 10, 2011, 08:40:24 PM »
Alright, I'm pretty sure my idea will be shot down, but my idea is to have a section for fan fiction.
Of course, due to the limit of post size, putting up these stories might be problematic, so each post should be one chapter.
There would also have to be guidelines involving quality and ratings.

Mega Man Discussion / What would YOUR Database CD read?
« on: April 10, 2011, 02:38:51 AM »
It you've ever played Mega Man and Bass, then you know of the collectable Data CDs containing a profile on Mega Man characters. The question is, if there were a CD about you, what would it say?

My CD, as an example:

FiniteZero is ambitious, but somewhat lazy. He is creative and works on alot of things at once, but most of his concepts never get off the ground.

"Now I have the upper... uh... what was I talking about?"

Good point: Smart
Bad point: Absent minded
Like: Mega Man classic series
Dislike: Haters

The WWW board / Sonic Forum that could use a couple new members
« on: April 09, 2011, 01:46:30 AM »
I recently found a nifty forum that, honestly, could use more members. While the theme is Sonic, there are other parts to it as well.

Yeah, it's a shameless plug, but oh well.

Mega Man Discussion / The Mega Man Card/Gum Flavors Topic
« on: March 31, 2011, 03:13:46 AM »
This topic is used to post either custom-made Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, or Pokemon cards, or what gum flavor would be best fitting for a robot master (for example, Cinamon would be Heat Man).

I know this is random, but I couldn't decide which I wanted to do, so I did both.

The cards are probably more productive, but whatever.

EDIT: As requested, some examples. (They are not yet complete. I have no idea what to put for ATK/DEF.)
(click to show/hide)
Any help on the stats would be appreciated.
Also, if someone could get pics of the robot masters in Rockman 7 FC, that would be great.

EDIT OF AN EDIT:
I completed the cards on my own. They are of all of the Robot Masters from 1-10, minus Mega Man and Bass, plus two others. Download Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?rufibw7zlczg1q8

Mega Man Discussion / Mega Man... On a Graphing Calculator!
« on: March 22, 2011, 12:29:46 AM »
Well, what this is could be somewhat akin to an art project. Essentially, it's trying to make robot master sprites simple enough for a graphing calculator, with them still being recognizable. Examples:

Left to right: Mega Man (base), Spark Man, Magnet Man, Fire Man, Chill Man, Blade Man, Astro Man, Splash Woman, Bubble Man, Clown Man, Crystal Man, Shade Man, Sword Man.

If you would like to add some of your own, it will be added to the front post (with credits, of course). Make sure to label your drawings.

The purpose of this is to see how robot masters look with the maximum amount of limitations.

Left to right: Pharaohman, Protoman, Ringman, Toadman, Dustman, Diveman, Skullman, Brightman, Drillman.

Left to Right: Row 1 = Stoneman, Chargeman, Gyroman, Napalmman, Starman, Waveman, Gravityman. Row 2 = Tomahawkman, Knightman, Yamatoman, Blizzardman, Windman, Plantman, Flameman, Centaurman.

This is a music pack containing the music from the lesser known PC game Fury 3.

I'm sure that every knows this by now, but just in case, the console command to change music is CHANGEMUS [insert song code here].

Fury 3 is a good game. I recomend it, if you like starship shoot-em-ups.
