Solution comes with a simple answer: which route is faster? Whichever route is fastest, that's the route to use for any%. All Bosses would be a potential separate category that includes the other route's boss AND the secret boss, unless it's agreed that said category should only include non-optional bosses (v5's two campaign bosses, you have to choose one or the other, the secret boss is completely optional). Bosses that only show up under a certain condition met during matches would have to be approached by a simple factor: is it faster to go through the matches fast and fight them, or to go through the matches without triggering the conditions to fight said bosses?

OpenGL is most optimal unless software saves time in some way (load times, glitches/tricks). Obviously, every fucking thing you can do on the engine that's not blocked off by sv_cheats should be valid.

That question just made me realize something: I really can't exactly pinpoint what I do to deal with stress, I haven't put any thought into it despite suffering from anxiety. I guess I just try to drop whatever that is stressing me and focus on things that I like if possible, to make me forget about stressing thoughts. I don't really see it as a matter of "do x to reduce stress from y", but more as "focus your mind on x to momentarily forget about y". Checking social media, trying to make/listening to music, watching LPs or streams, maybe playing videogames, talking to people about other stuff...

I don't know, I usually don't feel stressed out cuz I don't do a damn thing to begin with, or I try to take problematic situations at face value when possible. It's all a matter of how important you let things to be in your mind. Sometimes it can't be helped, and I have no way of dealing with anxiety and I just turn into this mess of frustration and anger.

EDIT: Yeah, I guess I also see it the way Red sees it, too. Sometimes it's better to drop whatever that's causing you to feel awful and just take a moment to distract your mind and realize it's not a big deal. It's smart to know when to stop for your own sake, sometimes things aren't as important or urgent as we believe them to be in the moment.

The usual story about bots in Zandronum: long story short and not really all that well told, back when Zandronum was known as Skulltag, all the source code for bots was lost, and what we see today can't really be improved much unless they're remade from scratch.

General Gaming Discussion / Re: Project AM2R-Another Metroid 2 Remake
« on: August 12, 2016, 11:03:46 PM »
Project AM2R wasn't itself hit by a Cease & Desist letter from Nintendo (stop all activity related to it), but rather the sites hosting the file that contained the game were hit with DMCA takedowns (stop distribution of it). As such, development of AM2R isn't stopping for now, just that certain sites have been legally abided to not distribute it.

It's on the internet, it's pretty much up and available if you know where to look and who to ask, highly recommend that you do.

TFW I have to learn the forums again.

It's like I'm new again.

EDIT: I'm already missing the "unread posts", "new posts" and "my posts" links right on the index page, as well as the advanced search options.

To further justify this post: we (Celebi) are (is) working hard on the fixes needed to make the mod compatible with v5a, especially after the team color overhaul (prepare for slime). Next update should be v8d with some new class additions, but no full MM9 classes yet: these need to be rediscussed and possibly redesigned.

In order to hopefully spark some more discussion, I'll leave you with this: we have been discussing the replacement of the armor system classes have, with straight up HP values. So far, the proposed armor-to-HP values are:

Certain abilities will retain the damage multiplier reduction as part of their design.

Also, reminder that you can join the CBM Discord server to also discuss and suggest things in a more direct manner: https://discord.gg/5GmKJSE

It's fine, Rain Flush gives you time to escape its area of effect, and the smart move is to NOT spam it all over the place. Realistically, an scenario where you can't escape Rain Flush's area of effect most likely involves getting swarmed by enemies at spawn/corners/small rooms or a really small map/room that lacks proper cover.

Even I didn't know it got removed.

That feel when changes get sneaked under the original creator's nose and go unconsulted. How dishonest, for shame :ugeek:

I told HIM not to sextuple post, but he actually did it, the madman!

It's Wizardry 5 music. Using Wizardry 1 instruments.

I know, right?

Next time, please upload a .ogg file of your songs, it's far far far lightweight than .wav

This cover is, at its core, better than the core one, sorry; this is a really good job at capturing the aesthetic 8BDM has in terms of source art fidelity. Some stuff in this cover could be done better, but at that point it's just my personal preferences.

Closed / Re: [Suggestion] Respawn Timer on Skull Barrier removed
« on: August 01, 2016, 11:52:14 PM »
The new Skull Barrier seems like the kind of "shield weapon" that is absolutely useful in specific cases, and mediocre in every other. I highly doubt it even merits the layout placement recognition it used to have. Why does it even still have the respawn timer? It is no longer even the shadow of the threat it used to be.
