As far as i see this, theres no bugs or problems with it (understanding you were not able to find mm1's source files). The sounds entering the water sounds more clean, landing hits and shots on opponents sound more rewarding, and those dissapearing blocks in MM2HEA no longer sound obnoxiously loud!

I actually like this much better over the curent version in vanilla mm8bdm, because it just sounds much more crisp, if that makes any sence. As far as suggestions, I suggest you revisit the health/ammo pickups one more time; they still have that buffered sound to them when you pick them up.

continue the good work, can't wait for the mm1 rerips, and hoping that this will somehow make it to the core MM8BDM next update!

Sounds good, maybe we can see to getting the sounds updated. I hope that they're compressed accordingly though. Having bundles of uncompressed windows format WAVs makes me cringe at the thought.

@Orange:

What in bloody tarnation...?! I didn't mess with anything but the sound effects!.

@Mike:

From my experience with YDClasses, all sound effects in this, the vanilla game and that mod are in wav format mostly for format consistency. I could try and see if turning all those sound effects into OGG audio files would change anything at all, but then the patch would have to be more specific about replacing files. Right now, it's just flat out overwriting them, but that's only because they literally have the same name and file format.

I wasn't talking specifically about the WAV extension, WAVs can be compressed in many ways using audio programs such as wavepad etc.

The Crash Bomber's explosion sound is still wrong. It should be using the "hit" sounds (mm2pain.wav) from MM2 several times in a row.

THIS

I did that on purpose, for consistency's sake

I could go all "USE THE RIGHT SOUND MORONS" on this if you want

He probably wants to know if the sounds are compressed so they're not giant.

No, they're uncompressed, and I don't think compressing fits the purpose of this project: reripping all of the sounds effects used in MM8BDM, with the goal of increasing the overall audible quality and game portrayal accuracy of these.

Currently, the reripped sound effects (that is, 69 out of 107 sound effects) already are heftier than all of the 107 vanilla sound effects by about 0,50 mb, but the overall quality is much better.

Also guys: MM6-styled health refill sound effect vs. MM2-styled health refill sound effect

I'm unfamiliar with the MM6 refill sound myself.

Though, I really like the MM7 refill sound. It's low and mellow. Sounds cleaner.

but it's not 8-bit so forget I even said anything

The one currently used in MM8BDM, called ENERGYUP

The sound effect used in MM2, MM9 and MM10 is different.

You realize I could just make it from scratch, right?

Well in that case, do that.

I just love MM7's sound. It's just so darn clean.
