This may be a stupid question, but did you make sure to enter the next level and wait for it to display "Game data saved!"? If you dont see that in the chat, then that means you didn't give it the chance to save.

Here's an infographic I made to help you reach a particular point in the game:

Nice. That should get it's own thread in the tutorials forum for people having save data issues (or just want to see a particular moment of the game).

Wait, wasn't there 4 wily castles in MM7? I remember seeing this, but then I got that image from the "saveprogress" cheat and got in Bass boss and I started to asking myself, why there isn't the wily castles? Like, even if it's a spoiler tell me please, does this have to do with do not using Super Adaptor in Bass? (I know that this way you can unlock Wily Machine, but I don't know if there's something more.

MM7DW2-4 used to be part of the campaign, but they were cut from it in later versions of 8BDM. They technically are still in the game, including their campaign info, but said info is now unused.

They were removed because they were extending the campaign by a little bit too much.

You need to open the console (binded to the ~ key by default) and type "mm8bdm_saveprogress 1024" (or just "saveprogress 1024" if you're not playing V5B).

On a side note, if you can't get the command to work in game (I wasn't able to but in the past I was) you can go directly to the game's files (albiet a bit more tricky to do).

1. To do so, go to the game folder 8-bit Megaman Deathmach v5(b) > open zandronum-[playername].ini
2. Search for "mm8bdm_saveprogress" and change the value to whatever value you need from table that NES Boy provided.

In my case, my game had a seizure after I beat King a few days ago and sent me back to Mega Man 8 before the Duo Stage. My Ini entry was changed to look like this:

Code: [Select]
mm8bdm_saveprogress=1093

the command works when used in the credits.
