Possible to disable MultiPlayer for young kids?
« on: June 24, 2017, 12:13:42 AM »
Hey guys:

The topic says it all. My young boys are MM fans, but they're not ready for the online world just yet. Is there a way to disable the MultiPlayer menu options so they don't inadvertently go online?

Even better, can they only LAN play with each other as well?

Thank you!

They shouldn't be able to connect online via the multiplayer menu as pretty much every online server uses external mods which usually require Doomseeker (an external application) to connect to. Also make sure you are using the latest version of V5B as that cuts out the server browser completely.

They should be able to connect via LAN using the MM8BDM launcher. Set up a game in the Host tab (be sure to uncheck Broadcast to server list), and have each computer connect to that computer's IP address.
