Title: How do I host a MM8BDM Server
Post by: Darnok on December 11, 2016, 07:22:44 PM
Hi have been trying to make a game server for me and my friends to play however I do not know which means I should make the server. creating it through the actual start up of mm8bdm is extremely easy however When I make the server It never pops up on the server list. I have played on a server through doomseeker however I want to host my own private one for me and my friends to play.

Two options:
1. Learn to Port Forward. This allows people to see your server on your home network and bypass your firewalls and other security features. https://portforward.com/router.htm or look up other guides. Do be sure to unforward afterwards, ports are closed by default for a very good reason!

2. Use TSPG, a free server host for the public. Very good service, set up through IRC. Requires a little more knowledge on how a server is configured as it uses Doom as its default options. http://allfearthesentinel.net/ Do be courteous and close the server down when not in use for an extended period as they are, after all, providing this service to both the Doom and MM8BDM community for free.

Thanks.  :)

It shouldn't matter what name you use. I would just call it Doom.
