Colour my surprise when going through memory lane, I find an old post I made as the most recent reply for a section on this forum. I doubt many people still check it out, so I think I will actually use this time to air out something that's been on my mind recently.

That... actually felt way better to put into words than I thought. Huh, thank you past me for making this random post as a stupid teenager, I don't think you ever realised how much it could help you down the line.

Well, I actually got a new computer a few months back, but it turns out the processor can run any actual programs.
So no more Slade, no more Fan Made Games, and most importantly, no more MM8BDM.

To be honest, things have gotten really hectic in my life, so I think it's about time I fly the coop and leave 8BDM behind me.

Thank you all for all the wonderful experiences you have given me, from our interactions on the servers, on Skype, or even on this forum. I especially am thankful to everyone who answered for my "CD's Question of the Whenever" page. You have no idea how helpful that was to me.

Not a single moment went by which I regretted. Thanks again, and stay frosty!

Also, after much effort, I was able to beat all the challanges

Side note, "Waltz for One" is now my second favorite song in the game, right behind "Strike the Earth".

Two problems:
-Turns out, I don't crash because my internet is too slow persay, but I crash because me joining a server literally stops the internet from working for evceryone using it. Yea, it's only for a moment, but still...

-My computer is really stupid when it comes to ports. Bad enough I only have 2 USB ports which you have to use up to connect a keyboard and mouse, but, besides power and microphone ports, that's all it has, so no LAN cable sadly.

Welp, I think it's time to just say it. Recently, my internet provider was changed to a much, MUCH faster internet provider. The problem is that the set-up isn't make for a family of 5 (I'm starting to question if it's made for a family of 1 actually) so it randomly cuts off and comes back on. For things like just normal web-surfing, it's not so bad since it comes on right back after.

HOWEVER, for online games, you NEED a stable connection in order to stay connected. If you've seen me as of recently, you would notice that I join and then leave right after. So, yea, all online games such as MM8BDM is now unplayable. Worst part? I know for a fact that my internet is not gonna change for at least a year, and that's being lenient.

*Sigh*

Also, another to consider, should weaknesses be removed or just keep them in?

Mega Man Discussion / Re: A "new" Megaman game is coming.....
« on: June 09, 2015, 04:47:24 PM »
OMG, I think I finally see what Capcom is trying to do. They're trying to bring back Megaman. Think about it, none of the new generation of gamers know about Megaman but then Smash 4 happened. Now, there are a lot of people wondering who this 'Blue Bomber' is. Megaman now has the most attention he has had since the original Megaman X days. Normally, I would just think "Since Megaman now has so much attention, rerelease all the old games in order to make a profit on this new audience and end it there" but then I read this article

Guys, they're trying to bring Megaman back!. I still have mixed feelings now that Inafune is gone, so I don't really know what to think about this. I guess this game is a way to really get a proper scope on how much people are interested in Megaman now, but the last time Capcom had a "Vote with Your Wallet" situation like this, it ending is pure sadness for Megaman fans (I still wish you were a thing, Megaman Legends 3...).

In the end, it's really up to you whether you get this game or not, but I think if enough people get it, we might get a new Megaman game in the distant horizon. Sadly, I won't be able to get it simply because I don't own any of the consoles it releases on, so yea.

To be honest, I've actually been wondering where you've been for the past while. I recently played Quint's Revenge because of your YouTube channel and had a blast doing it (especially since I was racing someone in it over Skype. Sadly, he won). Also, I wanted to ask what else you had planned to do for your channel, but I just never saw you.

I just... I just don't know what to say... I mean, another one of the big people is planning to leave. This feeling is kinda how I felt when Uki left, or when Ivory left. I felt like the 8BDM community/game couldn't exist without them; like the game was a part of them. "They can't leave, they just can't" I used to say to myself, but yet it happened. To me, it felt like someone like Korby left, or Kapus left, or heck, I felt like friggin' CutmanMike left. Yet, I still think to myself "They can't leave, they just can't" even thought I know very well that we all will have to move on one day, including me (and how I loath the day that will happen).

If it makes you feel any better, I always looked up to the coders in the community. They live a dream I can only, well, dream of doing: being able to code whatever you want, almost whenever you want. I always had this this high idea of coders where "Coders are the greatest problem solvers this world has, and it's these same people that have the power to move the world into a new, brighter future; a new future of technology and freedom". Of course, that made me always want to be a coder, more specifically a game coder when I grow up. Sadly, the last chance of that ever happening is lost, and now I'm stuck on the path my parents choose for of becoming a Doctor, the last thing I ever want to be. The worst part is that I now refuse to learn coding (Or at least continue from my basic knowledge of coding) because I know I will never have time for it in the future anyways. When you come from a family of pretty much only Doctors, you realize how much hell it is to become one, and after you become one, and trust me when I say it's a LOT of hell.

Sorry for gushing like that. Bottom line, I want you to know that at least I want to make you feel welcome. Not just that, but I look up to Max, not just for being a coder, but because of the whole 'Coming out about being a girl" thing. That took a lot of strength, strength I know a guy like me can only wish to have..

Anything Goes / Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

Quote from: "Emmanuelf06"
What grinds my gear : People who complain about retrogaming because it's old and bad for them. Just see the gameplay, specially after the snes/genesis period, a lot of games are cool and can be played again.....eveything is the gameplay (for a lot) =P
Thank you! Even now, as I replay a bunch of old Gameboy Colour games, I can't help but be amazed at how amazing these games are: The LOZ Oracle series, the Megaman Xtreme series, heck even Shantae (I now have a new found love for Shantae games because of it), retro games are amazing at how well their gameplay holds up to this day, even being better than a lot of Modern games to be honest.

General Gaming Discussion / Re: DOOM (4)

I think I will just leave this quote from the lead designer for the original Doom, John Carmack:
"The story in the Doom games is like the story in a porno; everyone expects there to be one, but no one really cares."

If you're able to slip in a mysterious Deus Ex Cutman (CutmanMike), that would be really cool.
