Does my map code (level name in doom builder) have to be anything specific or can I just slap whatever on there and it'll be fine?

You can make it whatever and I'll just handle renaming once it's all compiled together.

So let's have some real talk.

For starting this months prior, my timing really couldn't be worse with the due date just around the corner. A lot of people are occupied with V5 and with the aim to release sometime in July, having a CTF Compo show up right before V5 is absolutely terrible. And on the flipside, putting it right AFTER V5 drops is just as bad, because who is gonna care about a compo when V5 just came out?

So it makes me feel like a huge asshole since there was so much prior time, but I'm going to have to delay the due date for the compo. What makes it worse is that I'm physically unable to give out a date til we know when V5 is going to drop, so I apologize in advance.
However, that said, this compo will still drop, just even later than anticipated.

Luckily, this does offer people who feel experimental to try using some V5 assets in their CTF map if they so desire.

So delayed for an indefinite amount of time. All things considered probably some time later in August, but I can't say for certain.

If you're making something, stay tuned and I'll have a more definite date sometime after V5 drops!

Hiya! V5 is well and out so I can put a due date  back on the board. There was a lot of time already but given I want to let people play around with the new textures just a liiitttlllee bit, I'm throwing two more weeks up on the due date meaning we will be done for good by 11:59 PM EST on August 15th.

wow wow

Hey, I just want to know if anyone else is going to be a part of the CTF competition because I'm already rushing to get a map done but I don't want to finish it if barely anyone else will take part in it. Here's what I have so far, expect it to be done by the deadline

I'm fairly sure there are at least five other maps done already.
I'm also decently close to finishing my map as well.

Oh gosh I wish I found out about this sooner, I need to check cutstuff more, and remember there is an events section.

Okay, so a question because I can't seem to find the white flag or the team spawns... where are they? I can't find them and I'm kind of freaking out a bit.

I don't see them, are you sure they're there? I think I might be booting up the wrong files, because when I look in the "Flags" drop down, I just see the four colored flags and nothing more.

This is also what I'm getting, the four team flags are there, but the white flag isn't. The team spawns are not in the player starts area, only the deathmatch start and the normal starts are there.

I'm not entering in this compo but I can offer some help. Thing ID 5080 is Light Team spawns, 5081 is Wily Team spawns, and 5132 is the one flag spawn. They don't show up in the menu so you have to input them manually.

They do not appear in GZDoom Builder, which is better than DB2 in pretty much every way.
Thank you for posting the DoomED numbers, Jake.

Okay, so just like with High Tide, I decided to include a map-changing gimmick that you might find interesting. How it works is that there's a "base gravity controller" located near the front of each team's base. There will be two options: up arrows for high jumps (low gravity) or down arrows for low jumps (high gravity). Selecting either will transform the base accordingly, and you will have to wait 10 seconds before you can change the gravity again. Here's the controller I'm talking about:

I'd like to thank everyone who decided to participate in this compo and wish them the best of luck!
