Superjustinbros's Resources collection
« on: December 02, 2012, 09:08:33 PM »
Hello. Since I don't know much on programming at the moment I thought I'd just showcase a few things I created in my spare time.

Mapping Assets
MM8BDM Individual Mapping Config for Doom Builder
Solid Color Textures Full set
Extended Capture the Flag Textures

Ooze Grappler, Toxin Sludge and especially Sunset Blade all caught my attention. Do want!

Also, the huge energies are supposed to be basically W and E Tank pickups whose effect you get instantly, since that's what they did.

I know I came up with the idea for the S energy (as seen in World IV and V), though I don't think I sprited them.  They were basically instant M tanks that Protoman could give you in those games.

Thank you very much. <!-- s:D -->:D<!-- s:D --> I'll supply a link to the descriptions of each weapon as they would be done in a 2D Mega Man-esque game, and from there they can be worked into a format acceptable in MM8BDM, with damage values and such.
http://aozorasadventure.blogspot.com/2012/12/the-full-glossary-of-rock-aozoras.html

In regards to the items, I felt like creating NES versions of the large energy capsules as I haven't seen any online in the style of the original games.

Otherwise, here are my recommended color schemes for each weapon. Feel free to adjust them to make them more appealing.

Oh, and I think I should leave this here.

EDIT: Here are previews of your arm/buster while these weapons would be equipped.

Some stuff I did that could be useful...
Enhanced weapon icons based on MM1-10, &Bass, and V.

Rips of the Mega Man 5 ROM hack Rockman Cross X.

Rockman 4MI weapon icons.

(attempt at) updating the mugshots of the Robot Masters. Still uses the NES palette, but more colors per mug.

So I ended up making a second set of eight weapons.

Soul Ember: A shield that would operate like Junk Shield, creating small but powerful embers revolving around the player in a cylinder shape as opposed to in a circle, protecting from just about any projectile sans water and air-based weapons.
Remote Anchor: Sort of like an improved Dive missile, It moves (very) slightly slower, but has better and more curved turning abilities and releases a small briefexplosion when it hits it's target.
Gear Drill: Essentially Drill Bomb, but it fires a ring of four Drill Bombs forwards at a high speed that move in a helix pattern.
Spear Whip: A melee weapon, think Thunder Claw but faster.
Pulse Wheel: Hybrid of MM10's Wheel Cutter and MM8's Ice Wave, with a bit of Commando Bomb built in for good measures. Chargable; when charged it travels across the ground faster with bigger "waves" patrolling from the back of the wheel and does more damage.
Multi Shot: Much like Twinkle Buster from the Mega Man Christmas Carol series, but a bit faster and doesn't deal as much damage.
Shark Torch: Burner Man's Wave Burner with fireballs that become larger (turning into what links like Fire Man fire waves) as they get further away from the user before disappearing. They can spread across the ground and inflict any enemies with a minimal "Burn" status that slowly drains their health until the fire wears off or a body of water is entered. (The Shark Torch can still be used in water, but it cannot spread on the ground or on opponents)
Freeze Crystal: Tempoarily slows down everything except the user, no matter what range, and only allows one weapon to be shot by the user; small crystals that only have about the same strength as the Mega Buster.

Well it seems like I haven't given this thread any love in recent years. Time to change that.

Weapon sprites from the duo of MM6 hacks Rockman 6 Innocent and Rockman 6 Skype.

Maple Twister sprites from Rockman 2 Abnormality. The green boxes are to show the animation frames.

A random assortment of snow/ice-themed objects/projectiles.

Pretty much everything here is explained underneath the resources.
As for what they're used for, you can find out the purpose of topics like this in this topic: viewtopic.php?f=47&t=5021

Thank you, Korby.

Anyways here's giant Heat Man Yoku blocks.
Here's where they originate from: <!-- m -->http://himaq.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-68.html<!-- m -->

Centaur Arrow from Rockman 6: Innocent.

Weapons from Rockman Mind Roar.

Weapons from Rockman 2 Gray Zone.
(I accidentally reversed the animation for Bug Shield)

Again, that's explained under all of the resources.
The ones in the first post have a link to a devblog showing you where they came from.
Please try to be more observant when reading.

Mugshots of (most of) the playable V4 skins meant to be used with skin color translations. I made them under the context of using them like the mugshots displayed in the Mario Kart series showing the race order, which is why all the side-facing ones face right.
The Mega and Roll mugshots are from Rockman CX.

That giant... ball... thing from the Genesis Super Mario World bootleg.

With those mugshots, they're kinda neato, but
Roll should probably use the MM7 one of her, and the MM&B masters oughta use the actual mugshots from MM8BDM
You wouldn't mind if I attempted to expand upon it, would you?

I could see mugshots like those spicing up the results screen in the game, with icons for each player's skins (and the generic "Robot Master" from RockBoard for custom skins, unless custom skins could enable their own icons)

Also, I'm trying really hard to not want to make that stupid orb into a skin

Don't worry Molly. I'll make it for you if it would make you feel better.
