[CLASSES] "Back to Basics" (ALL SLOTS FILLED)

Hey, everyone! Some of you may know that it's been some time since the last competitive Classes event happened. I want to change that!

This event, as suggested by the title is a bit more old fashioned than some of the more recent tournaments. We've had a lot of interesting changes to the ever familiar game type, such as draft picks, or changes to the pace of the game itself. Though all of these are fun and exciting in their own right, I think it'd be time to go back to our roots for old times sake. With this I hope not only to bring back some good memories of way back when, but to also open up with a more lenient system to invite a broader audience.

The tournament will be done in a typical 'Double Elimination' bracket. You got your winner's bracket, and your loser's bracket. There will be deadlines set for each stage of the tournament, those who neglect their match until said deadline will be disqualified. If you wish to back out of the tournament prematurely for any reason at all, please contact me immediately and I will allow your opponent to advance.

There are no longer any prizes due to the time taken for this tournament. I hope you all enjoy yourselves for the matches coming, however!

RULES AND GUIDELINES:

The rules for the tournament matches are as follows:

1. Duels must be running MM8BDM-V3B.pk3.
2. Duels must be using the required files, mentioned later in this post.
3. Duel mode must be played.
4. 5 Frags, no time limit.
5. All vanilla maps allowed, no custom maps.
6. All servers must be hosted on Best Ever [BE]. To learn more about hosting, look here. Because of Best Ever's server migration, this rule is no longer in effect. Instead, I will require a third party be the host of the server, as well as have their name or server name declared with the match's results.
7. Scores must be confirmed by both parties. Screenshots are not required, but highly recommended.
8. The duel must be mutually agreed on beforehand in order for the scores to count.
9. You can freely choose from 4 classes determined on sign-up, and those alone.
10. First map is a mutual pick, loser picks next, and then the last one is also a mutual pick.
11. Best two of three duels.

The following classes are banned:

Galaxy Man, Proto Man, Bass, Rock Man.

The servers must abide by these requirements:

No chasecam
No crouching
No forced respawn
No autoaim
No suicide
Votes enabled
Spawnfarthest enabled
Nightmare skill

The following wads must be loaded:

The most recent version of classes (currently classes-v7bh.pk3)

hi Sam I have a question


you didn't define players having to choose classes to use in each Duel
and you also say Force Respawn has to be off

does that mean someone can literally go into this and use a different class each life

Oh yes, I forgot to mention a max amount of classes. Thank you for that!

There is going to be a max of 4 classes, and players are allowed to change to any of those they selected at will. Sorry about leaving that unmentioned.

Then I will update and exhort the players to do so, and duels will not count unless they're running on the most recent version.

Please let me know if I'm missing anything else, this is the first time I have run a tournament before, but I plan to keep tight control of it.
