Disclaimer: This tournament is powered by clean, renewable energy, obtained by stealing thunder from King Dumb.

With the enormous popularity of the CBM project as of its latest expansion release, now's the best time to throw the new and changed classes into the fray and see what comes out!

Important Info about each setup:
Weaknesses will be disabled.
Ideally the tournament will be Double Elimination but may be Round Robin if too few teams sign up. Each match will be Best of 3.
TLMS will be played with 8 shared lives (plus starting lives) and classes will be determined via Draft Pick* method (to be done every map)
TDM will be blind pick (anything not hard-banned goes) but may NOT change classes mid-map. Teams may not use the same class more than once per map.
TDM will be first to 20 frags for 2v2, 30 frags for 3v3
Certain classes may be banned outright, put up to a vote by community. (lists are not final and may include more, other suspects can be added by popular opinion)
---Universal suspects include Flashman and Woodman. Copyweps will be banned except for Rockman (who will himself be up to vote).
---TLMS Suspect List Voting: http://strawpoll.me/4964253 AND http://strawpoll.me/5030838 AND This post
---TDM-only suspects include Sniper Joe.

Send your .ogg and .mp3 music files to represent you and/or your team ala pro wrestling to Bikdark (either here or saix10 on skype) for compilation.

ALTERNATIVELY for the youtube->mp3 converter-impaired, send me youtube links and I'll be happy to convert them myself and throw them in the pack.

Having a slew of Copywep classes isn't very conductive for a classes tournament- these bans are for variety's sake, not to mention classes such as Bass and Protoman are already glaringly powerful. More information regarding the suspects and other clauses has been posted below- Note this is for TLMS only.

Please remember that TLMS draft allows classes to be banned per-match so only vote to ban if you think the class is too centralizing. Vote here: http://strawpoll.me/4964253
If you think any other classes deserve to be put to a vote, make a post about it with a brief reasoning and if there's some agreement it'll be added. Feel free to discuss the listed suspects as well.

Also, another to consider, should weaknesses be removed or just keep them in?

Off.
I don't see any reason to turn them on [or to vote for them] as they don't promote any sort of strategy aside from "The first person to pick a class with a weakness is boned in draft!"

When does voting end and signup start?

I still think one other copy class (Doc Robot or Duo comes to mind) should be at least considered. I agree that playing only copyweps in classes kind of defies the point of playing classes to begin with, but Rockman offers nothing of any real value to the scene. He has no defining trait, no real gimmick like the Robot Master classes have, and he's just a nuisance since he hurts like hell. Both Duo and Doc are less centralizing about what broken weapon they happen to draw in a round, making them less luck reliant and requiring a bit more skill to use. In Duo's case, his buster and shoulder bash are primarily melee; combined with his slower speed and higher armor, Duo is more likely to approach opponents instead of running away with a dash like other copy classes. With Doc Robot, the player has to shuffle around their weapons due to Doc's higher ammo cost and regenerating ammo mechanic.

I see the reasoning behind every other suspect on the list, though. Nicely written.

And yes, keep weaknesses the hell away from this. :ugeek:

@Korby

at July 22, 7PM EST (or earlier if it's crushingly one-sided) the results will be tallied

Also, huge apologies, meant to include "No Weaknesses" in the OP.
Additionally, should a vote come to a tie, allowing the class will be chosen by default.

What about Centaur, with this leaning towards tlms.

I am really looking forward to this.
Only things I need now is not-being-bad-at-the-game and an actual team.

Also, I dont see any reason to allow weaknesses. Speaking of that, does YD even include an option to disable them,
or will it be a patch?

If Centy is even brought up for discussion, then Time Man and Bright Man deserve equal treatment. Bright's stop ability is AoE like Centy's, but is a full stop in the vein of Flash Man versus a "spark" stun attack (which btw, several classes can jump or dash out of). Bright Man also has faster DPS with his buster and a blinding grenade on alt. Time Man doesn't stop anyone, but unlike Centy and Bright, Time Slow cannot be negated once it lands, and due to its nature of being a persistent debuff versus a temporary stop, lends itself to much greater strength in team games (as allies can capitalize on Time Slow much more effectively).

... And to add insult to injury, both Bright Man and Time Man can still inflict their statuses on enemy Centaurs. :ugeek:

Also, I never heard anything back regarding Duo or Doc Robot. Any consideration, or... ?

I'd consider Duo (not so much for Doc with his regenerating ammo in TLMS), but as with any other decision I'd want some consensus on the subject.

Right, that makes sense.

I'll have to play a bit more with the lack of weaknesses, but Flash Man not crying from bombs certainly changes that matchup considerably. Gonna have to sit and think before I vote on anyone else, and I encourage others to do the same.
