If you're still targeted, they either understood or their playing style doesn't extend beyond that tactic. In either case, no need to stick around that server, if you're not interested in confronting / VK'ing people. Personally, I'd wager that using this scenario as cause to say "the community sucks" is just self-confirming a bias against the community. But if the community is like that, use the same tactic - see if you can control their limited move pool.
Back when CTF was I considered you one of the more challenging players to face off against and in a way I did target you, but only competitively. I particularly enjoy hunting down skilled players. Perhaps you should give it a shot. If a group of players can't compete, well... find ones who do. I'm kind of sad to hear the real reason Mr. X left as I was under multiple presumptions it had to do with issues that were uncontrollable. Perhaps you don't enjoy being competitive like I do, or have other reasons for not playing the game. But a couple of chumps ruining the fun? People can be worked around easily.

I wanted to start a second attempt, in the hope that it could get me back into that game, back in december, but that playthrough kind of ended at Kohlingen.
The first one ended in the second half, after doing about half of the side quests in there.
Celes is my favorite character from that game, followed by Cyan and Mog.

When I first saw it I had the urge to go and spruce it up for you. Didn't know you did it yourself till I saw this post though.
I think the santa hat standing straight up is kinda clever, given the shape of the chao's head and the spot for emotiball. But it doesn't quite look right. It's kinda flat compared to the rest of the chao, (interestingly enough considering it's flat colored.) mainly due to the difference in outlines.
