« on: October 02, 2019, 10:14:08 PM »
When a peg is displaced, is it just the sprite or is the grapple point itself also displaced? Like, could you actually swing from a displaced peg?

The grapple point also gets displaced and it's as weird as it sounds. Certain pegs become basically useless if you displace them.

We noticed this issue during development of v6a and it should be resolved by release.

Regardless, thanks for bringing it up!

Oh, that's nice!

This is self-explanatory. If you die, but your Thunder Claw is able to grapple a peg, it will be displaced.
I was able to confirm this in MM4RIN, where it is quite easy to die while firing off a Thunder Claw. It is 100% reproductible, and for further ease of testing, you can just use solo Offline Skirmishes to fire off a Thunder Claw, then use the console to kill yourself (helpful to test it in other stages).
It seems (?) to drag itself as far east as it can in a section, then as far south as it can, but I'm not able to discern why nor have any conjectures of why this behavior happens in this scenario.
pegg has been made aware of this bug through the 8BDM Discord.
I wasn't using any cheats or mods when this happened.

Closed / [Suggestion?][Minor] Adding a safety net to this hole in MM2BUB?
« on: December 28, 2018, 01:55:03 PM »
This hole (in screenshots) doesn't seem to have a particular reason to not have a safety net, especially with the one in the opposite side actually having one. Should one be added?

These are two separate bugs, so I'll address them in order.

To reproduce the first bug, you must:
    Select Proto Buster as your weapon in the Training Options;
    beat the Sniper Joe;
    select any weapon other than the Proto Buster itself.

If you have done all of these, it's very likely that, upon shooting, you'll find Proto Shield persisting in front of you, blocking all shots, both yours and the Sniper Joe's. It will persist between multiple sessions, until you die, reset training mode through the Esc menu, or the bug randomly deactivates (some weapons that deactivated the glitch more often than not were Laser Buster, Hornet Chaser, and Mirror Buster. I don't know why they do).

To reproduce the secund bug, you need to:

    Select Treble Boost as your weapon in the Training Options;
    beat the Sniper Joe;
    select any weapon other than Treble Boost itself.

After doing the steps above, you should be unable to select any weapon other than Treble Boost. No weapons, even those that come from items and would normally overwrite Treble Boost, can be received. It will persist between multiple sessions, until you die or reset training mode.

I was not using cheats when activating both glitches.
I was able to reproduce them every time.
The Proto Man glitch was NOT in v5c, while the Treble Boost glitch WAS. (Though Training mode was broken in v5c, CutmanMike released a file for a fixed TRAINING in the forums)

Also of note is that, when observed through the chasecam, the player character's color doesn't seem to change when switching between the Mega Buster and the received weapon from training mode (player remains with the colors of the received weapon). It does not happen in normal gameplay. The glitch was present in v5c. I do not know if this has any pertinence to the bug at hand.

Take the "zandronum-*username*" file from your v5b folder and paste it into your v5c folder.

Thanks!

Is there any way I won't simply lose my v5c progress?

Closed / [Bug] Gamma violates the Boss Attack's Lives system
« on: July 29, 2017, 07:19:58 PM »
When the player dies against Gamma in the Boss Attack, it ignores the lives system (and, therefore, any lives the player may have had remaining) and sends him back to Dr. Light's Lab.
I was not using cheats when it happened.
I was able to reproduce it all the times I tried.
It is also not exclusive to Gamma's first phase - I died in the second one and it happened too.
I do not know if there are any other bosses against which the Lives system is also faulty.
Here's hoping it gets fixed. For now, I'll have to try beating Gamma with no continues...
