Do not edit the MM8BDM pk3 file
«

People started making maps in the SGC demo, which is awesome. However, they were simply adding the maps to the main mm8bdm pk3 file which is
wrong
.
If you wish to make your own maps, do not edit the main PK3 file of MM8BDM. Why? Because if you do, it will cause conflicts between you and whoever does not have the exact same pk3 file as you, causing you or the other player to disconnect. I'm sure you're aware of this.
In the next few days I'll explain how to correcty make patches, maps etc for MM8BDM and all other doom mods for that matter. You never edit the source material, which makes distribution much easier
Stay tuned for tutorials explaining how to do this soon.

About time this got posted, Got tired of having to mess with the files because people didn't want to host multiple wads.

For now, you should create them as .wad files and put them in the same folder as mm8bdm.

You need to tell skulltag to include the wad. The only way to do it via the launcher at the minute is through the connect screen. Connect to localhost but put "-file wadfilename.wad" in the extra command line params field and launch. You'll fail to connect but from the console you should be able to warp to that map.

Cant get it to work...
Is this behaviour normal:
I try to start my map and it tells me "unknown texture SKY01" ...but I dont even use this texture anywhere...my room is rly small and I would know if I used such a texture.

People still doing it. I just spotted a server with mmctf04 as a map, without any PWADS
You need to make an announcement on how to host with PWADS

So that was you who came in. Apparently, you didn't read my readmes or my topic or anything before accusing me of destroying the game. I DID NOT EDIT THE PK3. I DID NOT TOUCH THE PK3. I put the files in the skins folder, and Mike is well aware of this.

Mike said it was okay for now until the new launcher is released. The way he told me to do it did not work.
