Title: MM8BDM: The Duel Campaign
Post by: -FiniteZero- on December 05, 2012, 08:19:30 PM
This is basically a new campaign based entirely around duels.

...Though, it's not complete. My ultamite goal is to have a unique duel map for each Robot Master, as well as for the Mega Man killers and the bosses. This would be entirely duels, though maybe with one deathmatch per game for a brawl with the RMs of said game. Here's my plan of attack:

v3 Beta (done): (http://www.mediafire.com/?1hjk3jm6ju3f13x)
-Turns the majority of the fights into a duel with that Robot Master.
-After the Robot Master fights, the Wily/Cossack/Mr.X/Whatever fortress level will be used for a brawl with all the Robot Masters of that game, sometimes followed by a fight, ending with the campaign boss for that chapter.

Version 1 (In progress):
-Instead of modifying the main campaign, it creates seperate campaigns for each "chapter".
-Probably would be only duels, unless popular oppinion wants the RM brawls to stay in.
-Bosses would be bots, yes.
-Duel maps specifically for each Robot Master (though would start as just copies of the Training Room).

End Goal:
-Unique duel maps for each duel battle.
-Special bot/boss weapons for the bosses.
-The other stuff in Version 1.

Right now, the proof-of-concept-sorta beta is completed.

The list of duels to be included in Version 1 is below, though I'm short on ideas for bosses due to lack of skins.

Any ideas/help would be appreciated.

Duel Campaign + Classes Mod = a legend mod

I remember when Ivory planned to do something similar to this. I think I might still have my terrible Iceman duel map sitting around somewhere. Good luck with your project.

I'm going to throw this idea in for MM1:
Copy Robot.

Erm... so, Duel maps are supposed to be small, right? If so, I don't think it would be troublesome for me to make a few, if you wanted. A guideline to follow for maximum map size, number of spawns, weapons, etc. would be great, though

you should use Rock Club for Stone Man's duel map

Like Knux said. I'm sure I've shown on a few occasions I have no problem making small maps. Hell Sand Pit could maybe even work for Pharaoh... maybe.

Cool. Anyways, specs:

-Size should be roughly around Heat Man's map, though a little bigger won't hurt.
-Max of four weapons, one of which being the RM weapon of that map (unless the weapon shouldn't be used in duel)
-Map cannot have parts where bots run in place.
-Two spawns.

Something like that. And Copyrobot... Sure, that'll work for MM1.

K.
Weapons that shouldn't be used in duels. Skull, Flash, what else?
Also maybe a few extra spawns? Just so the winner won't know where you will be popping back up and be ready for you?

Er... This is meant for single-player, mainly. But four spawns, I guess.

Sounds easy enough. All I need now is a good dose of time.
