I usually just host a server for my friends and would like said server to be private, but other players keep getting in even though I keep the box for showing servers on the list unchecked. Why is this happening? My only real alternate option has been to kick anyone who joins, but I dislike doing this as it probably causes confusion for the person I kick.

Apologies if this has already been asked, I'm a bit busy at the time of posting this and haven't had the opportunity to look through this thread.

try setting up a password, so only you and your friend can get in because you and your friend are the only ones with the password.
