I learned about 8BDM completely by accident. Me and a friend were just tooling around on Youtube one day and a video of alpha footage popped up in the videos on the side. We saw it and it looked interesting but we went back to doing other stuff afterwards. A few weeks later my friend mentioned it again and I looked it up and found the forums at the tail end of the SGC demo days. I stayed off multiplayer till V1A came out but I was playing online from the first few days it was it was officially released (might have been the first day but I can't remember since its been so long), though I don't really expect anyone to remember me from back then since I was even quieter than I am now.

Also on an unrelated note,

My alias was something among the lines of a rainbow colored "Gameboy".
Holy hell I think I remember that. I'm drawing mostly a blank on that time in general but once you mentioned the name it seemed really familiar.

One day I woke up drunk from a hangover and found MM8BDM on my desktop.
To this day, I still don't know which one of my bros did it...

One day, I realized that people actually make fangames.
So I looked up some fangames fo Megaman....

And behold!

MM8BDM was on the wiki. So, I downloaded it.

I've known about it since before the SGC demo, but haven't looked into it until v1a or v1b came out. I just happened to remember one day about it back in late October early November 2010 and decided to download it. I went online a few times just spamming the talk button thinking it was the funniest thing since bears on unicycles. It wasn't until King Dumb showed me the forums that I signed up and started taking part in the community.

I'm not really sure how I found 8BDM or Cutstuff, but I'm glad I did, because otherwise I'd still be a guy who thinks "Buttfart" is the funniest thing one could say.

And also like Gumballtoid said I'm glad I'm to be friends with people like Gumballtoid and co. (no matter how many times i said you're bad or i hate you i never mean it bby ;))

My brother mentioned it to me back when it was still being worked on. I visited the site to download the demo and played it a lot. When I returned a year or so later MM7 was done and I became more active.

I remember you from my early days because you were a super good player in Deathmatch and Roboenza! I would actually join servers that you occupied because you always offered such a good challenge.

I gotta say the same thing Kapus said, only about the both of you.  When I think 8BDM, your names are of the first to come to mind as fun folks to play against.

To answer the question, I'm pretty sure I also showed up because of the Roboenza shenanigans video already posted during a big Mega Man classic series kick I was on and dragged Rush here along with me from our now completely vanished smash bros. forum.

I showed up because I was playing GvH against two dudes on the human team. They instantly noticed I was bad so they told me to come here for a reason I forget, so I did.

And then I found out there was this megaman game in development, and that we could contribute! So I did, and that cloudman skin sucked.

Hey, I remember you from back then and always wondered why the hell you never talked. But yeah, I stumbled on MM8BDM by complete chance. Pretty much the same reason's as Isaac actually, just screwing around on youtube and found a video of the alpha. Figured what's the worst that could go wrong and downloaded it, completely disregarded the campaign and went straight to multiplier.

Discovered it by pure happenstance about a month before v1a was released whilst looking at a Mega Man Zero Let's Play on youtube and noticing the v1 trailer as one of the related videos.

Back when the SGC demo was out, someone on Infinity Mugen Team forum made a thread about the game, and it looked awesome. There was a downloadable demo link so I downloaded it and loved the game, despite being terrible at it (I used keyboard without mouse back then...)

Stayed waiting for any release dates and when v1a got released I downloaded it.

A few months later I went on the forums for a bit or somethin'. I started posting and I'm still here.

Me too, mate. I've tried out the first three stages, I don't like playing against bots. The boss battles seemed promising, though...

I was actually searching for a completely unrelated project I knew about before (now called Mega Man 2.5D), but I couldn't remember the name of it so I simply typed in "3D Mega Man" into YouTube and searched for it. One of the first results was this video advertising the SGC demo, and it looked neat so I sort of went "hey why not". Three and a half years later, and likely over 100 in-game name changes, and here I am today!

Some of you remember me way back in the SGC days too, I used to run around as Dr. Mikhail Sergeyvich Cossack or Finn the Human.
