I used to dwell on a now extinct site about MM fangames. IIRC, either Korby or Mike decided to promote the SGC demo one day, so I downloaded it and played it for almost its entire lifespan. I was on Cutstuff for the v1a release eve (never registered prior to it, though), then just faded out of the forums, but kept playing the game. About a year later, I stumbled upon Classes, so I returned to the forums to discuss that, and I'm still here.

I used to go by the name Musashi-COM in SGC days (don't quote me on that, though), which was my username on that fangame forum and Cutstuff for a long time.

I discovered this game once on an info trip for Mega Man 2.5, and shrugged it off. It wasn't complete at the time anyway, so I figured I'd just let it be. Not to mention, at the time I was very heavily anti-FPS because of my old school's consistent wet dreams for the likes of Call of Duty that I just couldn't find myself appreciating.
About a year later, I discovered Shagg's roboenza series and decided to look into this game more. Believe it or not, my main reason for wanting to play this game to begin with was so that I could play as the robot masters. I was initially thinking I'd use Quick Man, but I eventually settled with Flame Man as he structurally looked the best from a front view. I started playing the game on-off in September so I could enjoy the campaign, but by about MM3 I found an interest in multiplayer matches. I tried synching up what I did to the tutorials of Doomseeker and the like, but I simply couldn't get it to work on my oldest laptop. As anti-climatic as it sounds, however, it did link me directly to this community, and I've been here ever since.

I was on a massive Megaman binge one day, having recently played Megaman 10 and deciding I wanted to learn more about the series, and then I stumbled across this...
(click to show/hide)
I literally started playing it on the same day after it piqued my interest, and then so and so days later after my birthday on the 25th, I decided to join up to these lovely forums!
So thank you, Joseph Collins, for opening my eyes to this 8-bit goodness! Even if your intentions were technically to bash the game and its bots, lel.

Also, I remember the first non-Doomseeker'd server that I joined almost had me kicked for not responding back to someone saying "Hi". On Charge Kick Man's stage, no less. My what a fun day that was!

Surprisingly, I started to play MM8BDM since V1b even though none of you ever know me since much later. I can't really remember how I found it though. I've always been a huge fan of megaman games and, I guess, just searching for ROMS of original megaman games, I came across it. I've loved the game since then and have never stopped playing it.

It wasn't until V1c or V2a where I really learned how to use the internet for it (I always though the 'online' option on the base game was it and that no one was ever online). After that, I learned about the forums and then the community. Still has always been an awesome game though.

I first found MM8BDM when someone posted about it at Exploding Rabbit, home of Super Mario Bros. Crossover, which is—yeah you already know that.

Somebody posted it, and I, being a budding Mega Man fan at the time (I had only just beaten Mega Man 2, and on Normal at that), saw it, and became thrilled at the prospect.  A Mega Man-styled, 8-bit 3D shootout?!  It was something I had to give a try!  I downloaded MM8BDM during the v1b days, and I signed up for CutStuff right away, but I didn't post for quite some time.

I remember when Roboenza was just released...ah, that feels like so long ago now.

Some random Youtube video, joined during V1B. Didn't make an account on the forums until I think V1D or so. Went by AirmanTengu back then, didn't switch to just Tengu till V2.

Also the release of V2 was still one of the best memories I have here. Rest in peace, V2A Junk Shield.

I was going for a Megaman Nostalgia trip on youtube when I came across the MM8BDM MM7 Expansion teaser trailer thing. I got giddy for no reason and downloaded it as soon as it came out

Alpha 8BDM, plus Mike posting about it on Sprites Inc. I didn't start playing online until SGC when I was using my old nickname "COG," I met Bluebrawl and PowerGloveNinja during SGC and we formed up the IRWC clan ages ago (which is dead now.)

I've been through primarily thick and thin with the community and the game itself. I would've never expected myself to get onto the MM8BDM team from how I was back four years ago, let alone evolve from Ivory teaching me how to lead a game's development, et all. It really has helped me change me to the point that I reflect upon that as I work on my own game.

I really am appreciative that Mike posted something about it on Sprites Inc. and I followed to this place, I would've never expected myself to have come this far.

Thank you, Mike.

I'm with Zard, Alice, and some others, discovering the game though Shagg's and Pink's old videos. I actually played way back around V1B under different names, but left on a long hiatus when I got caught up with Osu!. I eventually quit that game for reasons... and came back here just before V3 was released. At that point I had Shyster fleshed out as my internet username-thing and stuck with it.

SGC
Oh riiiiiiight I forgot this was a thing.
I tried the game back then, but wasn't impressed with the campaign so I dropped it pretty quickly not knowing it could be played online.
Picked it up again in v1b because...well
I mentioned that:
Quote from: "Lego"
Quote from: "*Alice"
Quote from: "Lego in the about yourself thread"
I came for the Shagg, and stayed for the swag. :ugeek:
This pretty much sums it up.

In 2013 i saw a Video LP by the user Gamster522:

(click to show/hide)

So after a while a gave it a try and i loved it. So then I found out that there were some MM game's i never knew existed (EX: MM&B). So it also got me more familiar with the classic series. After i beat the first chapter i tried out Doomseeker and it was pretty fun. Later that day i found out that there was a forum, So i joined and i stared download skin's and mod's and expansion's.
