Now might be a good time to remind everyone how PHASE 2, the DEATH POOL works:
1. At the end of Phase 1, one team will have a record of 0-3. That team is eliminated. Another team will have a record of 3-0. That team advances directly to the finals, Phase 3, and skips the Death Pool.
2. All other teams will have a record of 2-1 or 1-2 - 3 teams with the former and 3 teams with the latter.
3. For the Death Pool, each 2-1 team will be matched against a 1-2 team, with match-ups determined by avoiding as many repeat matches as possible, with deference given based on original seed. Each pair will play a best of 3 set.
4. Teams advance when they reach 3 total wins (counting Swiss Phase), and teams are eliminated if they reach 3 total losses (counting Swiss Phase). This means that if a 2-1 team beats a 1-2 team, the winning team advances to the finals and the losing team is out of the tournament.
5. Any team that ends up 2-2 after the first round of the Death Pool will have to play one additional best of 3 set, either against the same opponent (if only 2 teams end up 2-2) or a different opponent (if 4 or 6 teams end up 2-2).
6. In the end, a total of 4 teams will enter the Finals: the team that skipped the Death Pool, and the 3 teams that make it out.

We've been having difficulty scheduling that one just like the above match that just happened, but fortunately, we can now play some additional matches while we try to get this one to happen.

Due to the pairing procedure for the Death Pool, two matches are already determined.

Remember, these Death Pool matches are BEST OF THREE (3), so every game counts even more than before! All other rules remain the same. Please recall the Death Pool procedure:
- Teams that are 2-1 are paired against teams that are 1-2.
- 3 wins sends you to the finals, 3 losses sends you out of the tournament.
- Teams that get to a record of 2-2 will have to play one additional set (again, Best of THREE) in the Death Pool, against the same opponent.
- Please remember to check THIS GOOGLE SHEET to see all available classes.
- Please remember that once we enter the Finals, each team will get a chance to unban some number of classes they have used, equal to their total set wins minus their losses. Go 3-1, unban 2; go 3-2, unban 1.
