MM8BDM Discussion / Re: Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch V6 Music Code List
« on: November 15, 2020, 08:25:41 PM »
It has been nearly two years since I made a proper post in the forums, jeez.
Anyways, bumping the thread now that the list has been updated to include most of (if not all) the newly introduced V6 codes. Also corrected a ton of errors that quite frankly shouldn't have been there.
Tidied up the thread a bit too, though I might've scrapped a thing or two in the process. Also, V6 spoilers. Sorta. Be sure to play the new chapters if you somehow haven't up to this point!
I used the proper song names for the "Special" category this time, leaving music codes without any blank otherwise. Made sure I knew the proper names for the new tunes too! ..though I'm convinced I forgot a few somewhere.

I think enough time has passed, went ahead and updated the thread.
Noticed a few things that were inconsistent and fixed those up as well.
As for names of tunes I'm unaware of, I'll leave them blank as opposed to making guesses.

So, with the recent release of Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch v5d, a new cutscene has been added to the game that has some new music tracks that play during it, their codes being RBNZASTA, RBNZAINT, and MM10TITL.

I'm not sure if RBNZASTA and RBNZAINT are original or if they are based on anything, but I know for sure that MM10TITL is the Mega Man 10 Title Screen
Thank you for the info, though I was planning on waiting a few days after the version's release to update the thread as it could be considered spoilers by some. I'm unsure on those first two either, will need to listen a bit more and do some research to see if names have been given to those tracks.

I'll be sure to update the thread after a few days, and thank you again for sharing.
If I'm unable to find the names, I'll go without em. Less spoilery or text heavy that way!

Indeed, should've mentioned that as well. My apologies for not including that with my answer.
I'd also recommend keeping some sort of document to keep track of the music codes, and what songs they play.

Before I go any further off-topic, I really have enjoyed this map pack. PAP02, PAP06, PAP09 and PAP17 are my favorites from this mapping jam as of now, though I still need to play with these maps more before I come to a solid conclusion.
PAP03 is majestic in it's own way.

Hey, how can I play the music from these maps? I reeeeaally want to play Defiler of Taboos whenever I wish to, but, I tried "PA07MUS" and "PAP07". Both didn't work.

Try putting "PAPMUS07" in with the "changemus" command, as I believe that's how the music codes are formatted for this map pack.

Won't be updating the thread until Version 6 is officially released, sorry.
I'm no longer putting fan-made extensions or map packs into the list either.

I've decided after a while of thinking to remove the music codes for map packs and any extension of the main-game that isn't vanilla.
The reason behind this is that I wish for this thread for focus specifically on the core game, which was the original vision in mind when creating this thread. It would also be easier to handle, as the original post was large as it is. Adding those extra map pack codes made things difficult to manage when making adjustments. To make up for this however, I've tidied up the original list a bit more by removing any unneeded text from the list.

For those seeking music codes for map packs such as Mapping Jams or unofficial expansions like Rock Force and Rockman No Constancy, I'm afraid you'll have to do a bit of digging or experimentation yourselves to find the codes you're seeking.

Help & Editing / Zandronum Community Client Troubleshooting
« on: June 13, 2018, 07:42:43 PM »
About a year ago, I started having issues setting up ZCC properly on my client and refrained from using it since.
Recently I've attempted to get the engine to work properly without tempering the window size, though I've made no progress.
Currently I'm using version 1.6 which ties into the latest version of Zandronum, 3.0 (170901-1140).
Window resolution is set to 800 x 600 with the aspect ratio set to 4:3, while playing with the "OpenGL" renderer.

While having the client launch at a default window resolution lower than 800 x 600 does seem minor, this does pose a problem for me when a bit of the top screen being cut off, including chat messages. People have suggested playing on full-screen instead as it does fix the problem of being unable to see that small portion, however I prefer playing on windowed as I have other applications running such as Discord. I've also been suggested to stretch the window each time I launch the client, and while it does help most of the time, I'm looking for a permanent solution to the problem.

Not entirely sure whether or not this is spoilers at this point, but I'll put it as one just in case.

Oh, whoopsies. My bad. On that note, I should really get around and add in music codes from other popular map packs.

There are actually two versions of these: One is "MM1PWILY", a remix of the Dr. Wily dialogue theme from the intro stage of Mega Man Powered Up, which, to my understanding, doesn't play anywhere in the game, and "MM1PWIL6", which is almost the same song and is used, but it also has the melody from the final boss music of Mega Man 6.

I should note that MM1PWILY is in the "Mega Man 1 + Powered Up!" category, while MM1PWIL6 was moved to the "Special" category. Sorry 'bout the confusion.

So CutmanMike uploaded some musics of Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch with the correct names of the musics.

MM1PWIL6 ~ The Great Genius Dr. Wily
GTENSION ~ Gamma Cometh
MM7BASS2 ~ Super Bass (Phase 2)
PROMBOSS ~ A Case Of The Blues (Proto Man Boss)
FAKEBOSS ~ Untrustworthy Cops

Quick note 1: Untrustworthy Cops was supposed to say "Cop" but then went "Cops"
Quick note 2: Super Bass is the unused music used in Mega Man 7.
No, it's actually MM1PWIL6.

Thanks you two, I'll be updating the list shortly. By any chance were there any correct names for MGICPAST and MGICPRES?

Updated the list yet again, adding proper info to MM9 and MM10. I've also added in Mapping Jam #4's music codes, though I ain't too sure if I have capitalized the names correctly of the composers. The one flaw of title cards: all caps.

It's about time I updated the list again, now that Rockman No Constancy has been updated.

Rockman No Constancy has been added to the list (both the expansion and map pack), & Bass and Wily Tower / The Wily Wars get moved to their own category, and minor changes have been made to the Change Log.

Right, one more thing.

"GUTSBOSS ~ Gut's Man Stage (MM1) (Remix)" It's not a remix, and it's not from Mega Man 1. It's actually from "Megaman 2 - The Power Fighters"
Darn, I thought I fixed that already. I was corrected on that earlier and I swore I fixed that. I'll be fixing the list shortly, again.

And Mega Man: The Power Battle, for that matter.

Anyway, I noticed that MM1PWILY still hasn't been added to the list. It's different from MM1PWIL6 in that it doesn't have the melody from MM6's Final Boss theme mixed in.

Also, you listed MM3SEL twice, and MM7STR (which is already in the list as 7INTMUS) needs to be removed from the Specials list.
Went ahead and fixed all of this. I was curious why Wily's theme had a 6 at the end, this answers that question very well for me.
