It's been confirmed that v6 will be MM10 and v7 will be MMV(GB).

It's Mega Man 10. How could it not be? Have you seen the ending for v5?

Mega Man V is next after that, and then that's it.

Unless Capcom suddenly releases a new Mega Man game, but what are the chances of that happening?

Never. Besides Samus beat the blue bomber too it in the case of getting a new 2d game.

What happened to the idea of going to Mega Man X

It was never entertained seriously by the development team.

I think we'd sooner see Rockboard and Mega Man Soccer in core than Mega Man X.

Well, the following versions will feature stages from Mega Man 10 (V6) and Mega Man V GB (V7). And that's it. Maybe, due to popular demand, there might be a sequel, called "Mega Man X: 16-Bit Deathmatch", but the likeliness of that happening is the same as Capcom releasing a brand new Mega Man game (not counting compliations, ports and whatnot).

Nice idea!

Hey guys, Mega Man 11.
On a more serious note, I could potentially see unofficial/fan games be implemented (We already got a Super Fighting Robot Rock Force project release).

V6 is 10 and V7 is V.
We've confirmed those + fangames aren't getting into core, only official titles.
As for 11, that's a huuuuuuuuuuge toss up right now.
