The Maps of FiniteZero (NEW: Theatre alpha!)
« on: March 14, 2011, 12:03:33 AM »
Now a map pack! FiniteZero's Mapamajig v1a
Because yes.

OK, tiny, but whatev's. Contains:
-Hidden Palace Zone v2
-Wood Zone v2
-Space Station Awesome
-Aqua Man Stage Prototype

First map I made:

Maze01:
(click to show/hide)
It's rather small and simple.

This is my second map. It is fairly large, and contains most of the weapons of the game.

EDIT: Now, I have a gameplay video.

NEW: Hidden Palace Zone (V2)!

Changes: Used new textures, improved skybox. And yes, I know the new textures are not quite NES palette, but hey, if I did do that, and I tried, it doesn't look very good at all.

Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?ez6hs8uihqa8zh8

Alright, I made a brand new version of Wood Zone, completely new in every way but theme and music.

Next up, a sort of joke map, just for the hell of it:

Hotel MegaMan! V3!

(click to show/hide)

UPDATE! Hotel Megaman, V2! Now on Wadhost!

Back to real maps: Space Station Awesome!

(click to show/hide)

And now I bring you, something probably pointless: My own Prototype for Aqua Man's stage.*

(click to show/hide)

*Map is not affiliated with the Mega Man 8 expansion.
**Water Balloon not actually in map.

http://www.mediafire.com/?ssll562fdmdy8iy This just in, I finished Hotel Rockman! Yays!

A few maps based on Mega Man Battle Network. No real point to them. Get them here! :D

(click to show/hide)

And now, Hotel Rockman V2!

Here's a proof of concept, and a little preview of my next project.

This is the first release of my "Movie Night" project. It's really basic.

Go practice some more before you start releasing your maps. This doesn't even have proper walls and absolutely no height variation.

My basement originally was something like this. But I didn't download this, so I think my basement was WAY bigger than this... And looking back at it, I'm happy for having lost the map. It sucked...

While i like the town's idea and how each house has it's own little theme to it, well,
It needs more Height variation like dtd said about your first map. Make each house reflect the RM original stage design. IE, Crashman's would be a lopsided tower, WaveMan's would have a moat, WindMan would be another tower with his jump pads to get up to the top. Drill Man's would be in a pit... ECT.

I also think that the thin walls don't look so good. Most of the maps for mm8bdm have a strict 32/32 block style.
while I'd be fine with less, the paper thin wall just looks bad.

I would like to, but that would take up ALOT of room.
On the other hand, I would end up with the largest map of all time...

I'll work on that, I guess.

Not necessarily, The map is already quite large, your now just moving the houses Up and Down. some of the RM with difficult designs could probably be made smaller to compensate for any extra space used to make the map better.

you could also merge ballade, enker and Punk into a wiley themed house if you feel like it.

other things you could do are add random barrels and Trees to break up the flatness. And since the map is made to be a town, why not add road textures or grass textures on the ground.

This map has a lot of potential, I like it.

Alrighty.

...Wow, that map looks...

...uh...

Interesting. I'll give you points for creative use of skyboxes.

As a note, Wood Zone is released. It's better than it looks, I think.

I'm going to be blunt here.
This map is horrible. Climbing up a huge flight of stairs with my only payoff being Leaf Shield. Pure black tiles that teleport me into a literally inescapable room with nothing in it but Gyro Attack. Keep practicing, you'll get better.
