The Mega Man Gameboy Map Pack!
« on: June 13, 2012, 01:09:35 AM »
Welcome one and all to the Game Boy map pack thread! It's a simple map pack where we take stuff from GB games and make them into maps!

Current maps we are doing are:
Gumballtoid: Enker
Shmeckie(Designer)/Knux(Builder): Punk
Blaze/Knux: Ballade
Shmeckie(Designer)/Blaze(Builder): Quint
Shmeckie(Designer)/HD(Builder): Wily Fortress
TBA: Wily Tank

Screenshots of what we've done so far to come; I'm in a bit of a hurry at the moment, so I'll make this post short for now.

Enjoy!

To add to what HD said and clarify things:

Enker, Punk, and Ballade's stages are conversions of their MM10 stages, which represent Wily's space fortress in DWR, Marine Fortress in MM3GB, and Space Fortress in MM4GB. Quint's stage combines the latter 4 Robot Master stages, as well as the Time Fortress. Wily Fortress combines the latter 4 in MM3GB (whose stages were notably different than their NES counterparts, all taking place in the fortress), and Wily Tank represents the latter 4 in MM4GB (same as 3).

The Mega Man Killers' stages are just about done. Punk's finished, and Ballade and Enker just need a few final touches. We're currently working on the rest.

Here's a preview to Ballade for ya'll. Enjoy it.

There's still a bit of work me and Knux need to do. So what you're seeing here is beta until we get this finalized.

To clarify it a bit more. It's only the stages we felt that could be in this pack mixed with elements based on the GB fortress (Quint's stage is a mixture of MM2GB's later stages with Magnet, Top, Needle, and Hardman areas along with the Wily Station area included as the fifth area)

An obligatory preview of Enker. Some of these features are subject to change. After all, it does need a bit of tweaking.

Is it me, or does that last room look like caramel in Software...?

I've never heard of this concept before

This is designed to be a pack adding arenas representing stages unique to the Gameboy games that can blend in well with the vanilla stages. This isn't going to be a mass conversion of every GB stage. Mostly just the fortress stages, since the other Robot Master stages were more or less the same as their NES counterparts, save a few differences here and there (Snake Man in the jungle, different floor tiles for Spark Man, etc.).

Think of this as MM8BDM's Special Stages.

You should make a level where you are on permanent Rush Jet and you just fly around in space. I'm sure one of the Game Boy games had a level where you flew on Rush (or in him? Maybe he had a capsule lid or something) and to get into Wily's fortress you had to shoot down enemies and take down some turrets or something. A flying level would be REALLY neat (assuming it's not gigantic and it's somewhat vertically limited).

Oh, and that Ballade map smells familiar. I think it was in AMP or something.

Other than that, good luck with the project.

It originally was released seperately. I asked BB to put it in AMP (which is now being removed apparently from what BB told me,)

I did this update to make the stage much more enjoyable and more official looking.

That Rush Jet stage was from MMV. We're sticking to MMI-IV.

I can send you all the stuff for Skull's portion of the Fortress since I made them all already.  Just may need a floor texture if you don't just use the "bones" and connectors for the floors. There is 1 portion of textures I didn't convert yet though but it isn't needed since its just a cut off version of another one.
Also I did his spikes too if you want them.
