Zandronum crashes on startup

I seriously don't know, how this happened, but a week ago all was going normally, and today, when I wanted to play with my friends, there was this error message:

Was it just regular deathmatch? Did you add any mods to the server?

Yes, it was a regular deathmatch. And even singleplayer doesn't work

Have you already tried redownloading the game or restarting your computer?
I'm not really sure how much effect that second one would have, but it's worth a shot.

Not sure how little consequence it would have, but type +logfile "crashlog" in the additional parameters then try to run it again. It should crash again, which is normal, but it should also produce a .log file in the same folder as your Zandronum version. Open that and please post it as a pastebin link.

Just for laughs, try moving your MM8BDM folder off your desktop.  Preferably to c:MM8BDM.  I noticed two things

1.) "C:UsersÀíòîí" - Not sure,but it's possible the username is throwing ZDR for a loop
2.) "Not in a level." - Possible explanation for the above.

See if that does anything.

Let me explain what is happening: Zandronum has been reported many users are having crash on startup with Nvidia's OGL, and this has been fixed for Zandronum 2.0. Also, this means in no way that your graphics driver is busted and needs reinstall, as you can try testing the Zandronum 2.0 Alpha Builds or GZDoom and never face similar issues.

If i use Software, i will have less crash problems? I have the same problem with Doom online or others.. :/

Er, don't install the alpha unless you have no intention of playing online.  As for checking to see if OpenGL is your problem, you can force software (or opengl) at the startup by adding +vid_renderer 0 to the Extra Command Line Parameters section of the launcher.  (setting it to 1 forces opengl at launch)

Don't install the alpha builds unless you ONLY plan to test it. If you plan to keep playing online, follow Messatsu's instructions. It's an effective workaround, but expect a lot of mid-game crashes if you are playing in a server with mods for MM8BDM in software mode (for some confusing reason, it rarely affects direct modifications of Doom, Hexen and others. I assume it's due to all files being loaded into RAM and "reaching a cap", but I will investigate further)
