[TUTORIAL] DoomSeeker for Mega Man 8-bit Deathmatch

DOOMSEEKER

Ready to play Mega Man 8-bit Deathmatch online with others? Then it's time to connect using Doomseeker!

Doomseeker is a third party server browser used for finding and connecting to MM8BDM servers, and is now bundled with all installations of MM8BDM. Doomseeker can be launched by using MM8BDM's launcher, under the Multiplayer tab. Don't see the Launch Doomseeker button? Try redownloading MM8BDM from our Download page.

Doomseeker will then open with a list of active servers. Double clicking on a server will attempt to connect you to the game.

If any additional files or mods are required in order to join the server, you will be given a prompt to try to find and install these files. Once downloaded, you should then be able to join the game.

Have fun playing MM8BDM online!

Banned from Master Server

If you can't see any servers or you receive an error about being banned by the Zandronum master server, your IP address may be caught in a range ban by mistake. Sometimes, the Zandronum Staff needs to ban a range of IPs to keep a known cheater or troll out of the servers. Sometimes, players get caught up in these ranges and are banned before they can even play. If that happens to you, follow these instructions and you'll be unbanned.

Manual Installation

If you prefer, you can use your own installation of Doomseeker by manually downloading it from their website.

I'm having trouble.  I've done everything you've said, but I get an error message "C:/users/PERSONALINFORMATIONHERE/Desktop/MM8BDM-v1a/0.98d-alpha-r2969 doesn't exist.  You need to install new testing binaries."

Try unticking the testing binaries checkbox in the engine screen. That might be a step I missed in the tutorial but it worked for me on my computer.

You need to contact the skulltag people about that. Most likely your IP was caught in a range ban by mistake.

So I did everything ask except "unticking" (I have no idea what that is, How to do it, etc), but I always end up tih the error "No testing directory specified for skulltag".

I already tried reconfiguring everything in "Options". Help?

It says that files are missing, so I can't join a game.

I did everything the guide said, but when I try actually joining a game, it says "No testing directory specified for Skulltag", I've used Skulltag before for Ghouls vs Humans but this has never happened and I've tried everything. How do I fix this?

Every time I try to open the .exe for doomseek, it keeps saying that I need to re-install the application to fix the problem. Any fixes?
