I've expressed this elsewhere, but I think this mod's incredible. It's an undertaking to make GvH work in a MM8BDM environment, but I think this is the most natural it's ever felt. The spirit of both games feel well and alive here, and the new features, classes, additions feel right at home.

Keep up the good work, very much looking forward to playing as Hunter again.

I know there's one in development, but the MMRF forums seemingly haven't had a new post in over five months. Has Goldwater been more active on other media (Discord, Twitter, etc.)?

I wouldn't mind at all helping out with updating the pack when it comes out, but I don't know when that will be.

There's the Mission Mode, which is a set of four levels made by CMM back during v3. You can find it here: http://cutstuff.net/forum/index.php?topic=11020.0
It got two unofficial expansions in Strength in Numbers (http://cutstuff.net/forum/index.php?topic=5642.0) and Mega Man X Single Player (http://cutstuff.net/forum/index.php?topic=5658.0), the former of which adds four extra characters and the latter of which replaces the cast with MMX characters and adds three levels.

You'll probably need to hunt down compatibility patches for the three above ones if you want to run them in v5d.

Mega Man 4 Single Player: Cossack Crusaders (http://cutstuff.net/forum/index.php?topic=11335.0) is in development at the moment.

I might be forgetting other things, but hopefully there's a place to start!

Good to know - I have a fair bit on my plate atm but hopefully by next update I should be ready to help contribute if the project's in a good position.

Curious, how feasible do you think Mario Kart Battle Mode maps would be for something like this?

I've been playing around on them a bit (mostly the ones from MK8 Deluxe) and thought maybe a few would be interesting to see in MM8BDM.
If I tried making a few and slapped some Mario Maker 2 assets on em, would there be interest in that? Or would it be too strange or out of this project's scope?

Interesting idea!

I've had thoughts in the past where I'm playing another FPS and I wonder how well it would translate to MM8BDM. This seems like a good avenue to test these thoughts out.

There aren't any pk3-based templates that you can insert sprites into. It's not a bad idea, but it would still require a lot of work after the fact, to the point where you may as well just start the skinning process from scratch yourself. Zandronum doesn't like when multiple sprites loaded into the game have the same name, for example. Skins using the same sprite names will be given a junk name instead, and can't be seen by other players.

By instructions, do you mean Pegg's Tutorial? If you haven't taken a look there yet, that's where I'd start.

If you've already looked there, maybe you could give us more of an idea as to what's wrong. I'm gonna ask some things as shots in the dark, feel free to diagnose at your own discretion.

Do you have sprites for all directions, and all poses? (X1, X8X2, X7X3, X6X4, X5 - where X is a letter from A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H)
Did you Modify their Gfx Offsets? (Monster)
Is your skin file placed inside the "skins" folder?
Is the skins folder in the same directory as your Zandronum .exe?
When you run MM8BDM, do you get any errors? (These would show up around the end of boot-up for a split second, so you might wanna have printscreen ready)

Hey, it's okay. These forums aren't an instant messaging program, and it takes people a bit to respond. Traffic here is low, and while people will get to your message eventually, it might be a bit.

Anyways, on to the point of this thread. My best bet is that you pressed +, which "zooms the screen in" for Doom-based engines like Zandronum, which MM8BDM is in.
Press -, and that should bring your health bar back. If you want, you can press - again to try MM8BDM's horizontal health bars. Completely optional.

+ and - should be all you need.

I personally have kinda middling opinions of MMU but would love to give mapping for one of the stages a shot someday. MMU has style in abundance, and none of my complaints about the source game would have to apply for a couple of deathmatch maps.

Getting a full expansion complete is extremely difficult, but still doable! Rozark mentioned RF and Dos Reborn, but even before that came Rockman no Constancy and Mega Man Powered Up. The precedent exists, it's just no one's really gotten it down to a science how to keep the ball rolling from project start to project end for the other projects.
