Are you ready for the heated bonds forged on the battlefield?
Are you ready to share your destiny in blood with another?
Are you ready for something truly bizarre?

Play as someone's stand in this mod!

Currently intended just for TLMS, but you can try other team modes with it.

When you spawn, you get assigned to another person as a stand.
At round start, stand users and their stands are randomized.

Roles:
A stand: Fly around at high speeds as long as you want! Use alt to warp back to your user!
A stand user: Have a bit more defense!
A stand and a user make up a pair bound to each other.
A stand can only go so far away from their user before they automatically warp back to them.
If one person in the pair dies or otherwise RETIREs, the other dies as well.

A person: Welp, you didn't become a stand or get a stand. Looks like you're fighting normally.

A menacing person(strength of #): You're a person, but stronger! Players become this when their team is outnumbered. They are distinguished by floating over their head.

Available stands (You select what stand you want to become like a class):
The Megas: You fight like a megaman.
Star Platinum: A powerful melee stand. Your rapid punches slow you, but they hurt and block projectiles. Attack with star finger if you need a bit of extra reach or to stay mobile.
The World: A stand much like Star Platinum, boasting the same punches. But instead of star finger... it can stop time!
Stopping a player is a terrifying power no matter how you slice it, not even taking damage will free them!
But stopped players take half damage.
Charging this power takes a while and slows you, the charge can also be interrupted by taking damage.
When the world gets a time stop off, it can't actually do anything else until it has worn off.
Also don't try to have 2 The Worlds chain into each other, a player can't be stopped again for a while after a time stop.
Geb: You don't fly and you take more damage, but you can go very fast and very far from your user. You've got a rapid melee attack and an aoe that slows you.
Cream: A slower stand that shreds through enemies. Can go invulnerable and rush forward with a void that goes through walls. Can also hide itself and reappear with a void.
The Hand: A slower melee stand with a hand that shreds foes up close and sucks in guys a little too far way. It can also be charged for more power. However, this is all you got.
King Crimson: A confusing stand with the power to skip time.
Its attack is a warp then punch.
Over time, its Time Skip ability charges. It can then put foes around in Time Skip status, dealing no damage.
Foes in Time Skip are blinded and locked in place. They can still attack, but they do no damage until Time Skip ends. They also cannot be hurt.

If you want to contribute...

What I don't want: Skins
A large part of Jojo's plot is figuring out just who are the enemy stand users and what their stands do.
Having stands or their users be assigned their skins would detract from this.
The saving grace I have given is distinguishing menacing players, as they can end up absurdly strong.
If I include Jojo skins, they will work like any other skin, so you will end up seeing Star Platinums using Dio Flash.

What I want:
Attack sprites
Weapon HUD sprites
Stand/user HUD sprites (would like something like a Jotaro head and a Star Platinum head that indicate distance)
Sounds (do note there is a servicable resource here http://www.sounds-resource.com/playstation/jojosbizarreadventureheritageforthefuture/)

Contributing Stands:
Oh boy.
Keep in mind, users have 0.7 armor. A Stand and their user should be roughly the strength of 3 normal people.
Stands use alt to return to their user. Having your stand do something special on alt isn't impossible, such as The World cancelling time stop charge.
Stands can pick up weapons and items like any other, they use a relatively retro method to stay on their own weapons though. Thus, your stand should probably use no more than 2 weapons. Items probably ok.
Part 3 stands have favorance since this project being a MM8BDM mod of all things is largely a tribute to Capcom's Jojo part 3 fighting game, and it is arguably the most iconic arc. Also it's the one I know
I will accept other part stands though.
Doubtful I will include original stands (http://stand-stand.tumblr.com/), but I'm not gonna rule it out.
Other then all that, go nuts.

Just some thoughts

-I love the little touches with the new obits
-I hate playing a mod and not being able to play the mod. I've had instances where despite stand/user pairs being formed, I've been left as a normal person--not even menacing.
-Proper MUDAMUDAMUDAMUDA/ORARARARARA sound effects?
-Dying when your stand/user dies takes away a frag. Any way to fix?
-The Megas is crazy strong. Infinite flight and unimpeded copyweps isn't a good combo. Perhaps apply the damage penalty to copyweps, ala CBM?

Were you outnumbering the other team? Were the teams even?
The system will always try to assign as many pairs on the highest team as possible and then assign pairs/menacings to everyone else.
Some simple math here:
A normal person = 1 people.
A stand = 1.5 people.
A user = 1.5 people.
A menacing person = 1.5-(A lot) people
A team should never have more than one normal person
A team should never have more than two menacing persons

Getting killed alongside your partner is now called "Stand Crash" and does not subtract a frag. This makes TDM a little more playable.
Added Cream, The Hand, and King Crimson.
The Megas speed reduced.

Reporting in as a newly bred JoJo fan to say this mod is awesome as hell, but I have to ask...

a. ...are normal and menacing people able to hit stands for balance, or were you just not aware that that doesn't quite canonically work?

Am aware.
Stands immune to non-stand attacks doesn't sound fun to be honest.
Pretty sure Heritage for the Future also allows non-stand attacks to hit stands, so Capcom probably took the same stance.
Also seems the case with All Star Battle and CyberConnect2.

One problem that I have with this is that I can't play as a stand without a stand user. Atleast for me, this mod would be much better if I could play with my stand as a normal class.

Could you make an special version of the mod that add this feature?

Eh, Stands on their own is a nice idea but some of them would be really broken and - let's be honest - it tells canon to go fuck itself. Remember NOTORIOUS B.I.G.? Okay. Remember any other userless stands? Not quite so okay.

at the very least stands sometimes having normal tlms weps needs to not happen; giving them a little more armor than their users would be a nice buff
