Mega Man is never going to die as long as fans keep him alive through fan games, such as the one this forum revolves around. You don't need new installments every other year to enjoy a series. It's okay to replay old games and still enjoy them.

I'm sure Mega Man has left a pretty big impact on the world of gaming, so the series will always live on in spirit.

Panel De Pon is dead to. I'm still supporting and spreading my love for it everywhere.

Don't let a series' lack of official content get you too down. If it stops, you can even carry it on with your own hands!

Yes, Mega Man is rest. And now that Xover is gone, he is rest in peace.

If it serves you as any consolation, the series lives on through the fanbase's work (a thing I've said hundreds of times throughout the last 4 years or so).

Hasn't stopped this from continuing. MM8BDM was even featured in a site owned by Capcom once, though I can't remember which or when.

As far as I've seen, Capcom (more specifically, Capcom-Unity) has been supportive of fan projects, especially involving Mega Man. They backed Street Fighter X Mega Man and two tribute music albums, and they did feature MM8BDM on their blog around the time of it's original release. It's actually a bit surprising to see compared to companies like Square Enix who do seem to regularly shut down fan projects. That's not to say Capcom wouldn't shut down a fan project (especially if it was trying to big time profit off of the Mega Man IP), but the people working at Capcom-Unity now and in the past hear and relate to wanting more Mega Man. Which is pretty cool!

Capcom, of course, has also been pushing digital re-releases of past titles, which is also rad. It gives a chance for people old and young to discover/rediscover series like classic, X, and Battle Network in an easy and accessible way. Thanks to those releases and Super Smash Bros., seeing Mega Man on the eShop is actually a fairly common sight.

Despite the gap in official game releases, I feel like Mega Man has a lot going on for him right now, which actually makes fans more antsy than ever for a new game!
