I had a relatively neat idea

What if Korby, Ivory, and brotoad were all a legendary trio and CutmanMike was the trio master? Unless that's what you had planned, which is very likely.

On the subject of sprites, if you're using Gen IV I personally don't see the problem mixing those with Gen V, unless backsprites are the concern. Please don't use D/P Registeel because you know why.

The only things I really worry with Gen 5 pokes may be fixing the names, fixing the stuff to work with the newer version, and adding their sprites in. I still need someone to do a back sprite like Gen 4 with the Gen 5 pokemon though.

Strange enough the update uses random Gen 4 and 5 sprites for the Pokemon. But I shouldn't complain much, Gamefreak themselves does that themselves anyways.

I'm pretty sure this is planned, though I'm not 100% sure about CMM

Um. Why I hadn't updated this thread when I did tons of work recently.

Anyways, screenshots.
Spoiler:

Also I'm deciding I'd just stick to 3 instead of 15 starters. Realizing it would leave me with headaches in making so many versions of HD with every possible team he could have.

But the thing is, I need YOU to vote on which grass, fire, and water starter to make it in. It don't have to be specific gen, it could be a mix actually. The first post should have the poll and results.

Also it's going to be really soon that we'd have a playable beta soon. I'm working hard polishing the game, and programming at the same time.

how about we say "starters can go suck a lemon" and MAKE OUR OWN

HOLY CRAP ON A SANDVICH

I'm voting Tentacool for Water, Houndour for Fire, and Snover for Grass.

Tentacool is sort of fragile but learns a lot of great status moves (especially Toxic Spies... ooh baby) and is relatively fast, and I always thought Tentacruel was sort of a badass. Clear Body is also a fantastic move that prevents stats from lowering, which is great for those trying to sweep or Nuzlocke runners.

In contrast, Snover is sort of slow but has the added bulk to tank a few hits, and its moveset is pretty impressive considering its typing. I feel like Snow Warning could end up hurting a few players due to the forced Hail, so Soundproof (the Dream World ability) would be a better alternative. It blocks common grievances like the sleep-preventing Uproar, the obnoxious Sing and Perish Song, and the fan-favorite "FUCK THIS ZUBAT" Supersonic.

Houndour offers a happy medium between vitality and versatility, without becoming a clear "best choice". I've always thought Houndour was a decent Fire Pokemon as well as a decent Dark-type as well, with some pretty nifty moves from both families as well as some room for self-buffs and the potential to spread around the bad status effects. Early Bird is sort of nice but is too specific for most tastes, and Flash Fire is sort of silly because nobody in their right mind would hit a Houndoom with a Fire attack, but the Dream World exclusive Unnerve isn't much better. Personally I'm fine with Early Bird, but if you're open to custom Abilities then might I suggest Intimidate to level it against the other hounds Stoutland and Mightyena?

These are my personal picks and I'd like some feedback on my thoughts. Suggestions are welcome, after all this IS a popularity contest. I just thought it would be neat to have some "new" starter Pokemon instead of picking three recycled picks and inevitably leaving someone's favorite out of the game. This also opens up the possibility of catching all the starters instead since you don't get any at the beginning so KEEP THIS IN MIND and support my plan. Thanks!

The only reason I want Mudkip is because Swampert is Water/Ground. And Water/Ground is helpful.

Tentacool --> Wooper

+ typing is Water/Ground
+ two stages of evolution like Snover and Houndour
+ still avoids "popularity" problem
+ allows encounter of all starters
= trades Poison counter versus Snover for immunity to Electric
- two starters are now semi-tanks
- weak Special movepool
- very few status-inflicting moves
- Tentacool wild encounters (dear lord)
