The year: 3587. Conflict spans the stars. Huge armies are locked into an enduring stalemate. Only one force can help them now: The Awesomenauts.

Awesomenauts is a MOBA (Mobile Online Battle Arena, for the acronymically challenged) by Ronimo Games, released for Xbox 360 and PS3, and later ported to PC via Steam. It combines the gameplay aspects of typical MOBA games such as League of Legends, DotA, and Heroes of Newerth, with the platformer aspects of typical sidescrollers, all presented with a glorious 80s Saturday Morning Cartoon artstyle. And don't even get me started on the music. Good god, the music.

Seeing as a lot of people in this community are fond of both Mega Man (obviously) and League of Legends, I figured this game should be right up your alley. Hell, there are already several people around here who have the game, hence why I'm trying to rope more people into it.

The game is currently 50% off on Steam for a measly five dollars. That's less than a meal on a typical fast food joint, meaning that the only viable reason for not picking up this game is because you are broke or really, really cheap.

Anyway, we really should try to get some games organized or something along those lines. I'm tired playing with random people and bots all the time.

Edit: On request, a (slightly antiquated, but mostly correct) gameplay video:

I'm a little disappointed you didn't include this theme. The first time I rolled it, I was just swept away by that neat little intro. From then on, whenever it played I tried to survive as long as I can just so I could hear the whole thing; and it worked somewhat, got my first Killing Spree doing it! In case it wasn't obvious, I ended up buying Awesomenauts. It's a great price for all these wonderful songs, and they were even nice enough to throw in a game with the purchase!

My favorites so far are Froggy G and Clunk... oh ye gods, Clunk. His missiles are so good, you hardly need his two specials.

Spoiler:
Vacuum Bite? Never heard of it.

Yep, totally didn't need that lousy Vacuum Bite.

I'm Recov150 in those pictures, by the way.

I definitely got more hooked into this than League of Legends, that much is certain. :ugeek:

So it's 6-player Smash Bros.? (Seriously, fuck MOBA and fuck Riot for coming up with the least descriptive name for the genre possible.) I wish I could get this, but I don't have a computer that can play it. How does a GMA 950 stack up against a GeForce 7150M?

The problem is that you're playing on AI Station 404. Seriously, fuck that map. You absolutely have to keep defending your second turret by yourself/selves at all times, because your own droids will not be there to prevent them from reaching it, meaning that if you lose the first turret, you have pretty much lost the match if you can't bring down theirs very soon, because from that point onward you'll almost always be playing 2v3 when away from your turret. (And Armok help you if you're the only human player on your team.)

Not to mention that it's just one single lane, meaning pushers and lane support like Lonestar, Voltar, and Gnaw sort of dominate the map.

Do you guys have me added on Steam? I play this quite a bit whenever I get the chance.
I've been trying to learn Skolldir using a build focused on his punch combo and stun effects, and it seems really effective for pushing people away and slowing down those unfortunate enough to get too close.

Oh yeah, and screw AI Station, I hate having to play on that map constantly.
