Heya all. Is it possible to set friction on a 3D floor? I'm making Woodman's stage from Rockman No Constancy and I have icy friction in the level, but it only seems to apply to the normal ground and not the 3D floors, which ironicly is made from ice.

How do I set friction on 3D floors? Much help would be appreciated.

I haven't checked this myself, but I remember a similar problem with a map I made so

Set the friction on the sector you're using to transfer the heights (the one outside the map)

I don't think it'll work. I had a similar idea to make a 3D-floor into a conveyor belt, but I was told that it wouldn't work...somewhat.

Sadly it doesn't seem like you can (I just tested a few methods to try and get this to work to no avail). You'll just have to work it into the map that those 3d floors aren't slippery (different textures?).

An idea that comes to mind, although not actually tested, would be trying to set a global friction level that's lower than standard, and then have normal sectors with increased friction instead. Sort of doing it reverse.

Ahh well, looks like I'm gonna have to drop the icy friction altogether. Hopefully it won't hurt too much.

Thanks for the help, anyway!

Did you try making the roof of the sector (the roof of the 3d floor area) a convaor belt, instead of the floor inside it? I think I made a 3d floor that only melts players who land on the top of the 3d floor, and not from below it (as seen in the CSCM07 map)...

Why not try to apply the friction to the sector from which the 3d floor is made? no way to tell for sure unless you try...
