Does this happen to other players? I really want to know if there's a way to reduce the heat.

Are you using a laptop or desktop?

That's because the game is actually too easy to run. Since the game is simple to render, the computer usually tries to bump up the frames dramatically, which causes the computer to start to stress out with framerates of over 130.

There is a way to cap the framerate in-game in the options menu, under Display Options.

There is an easy trick to avoid overheating:
If it is a laptop put a board or so below it (Because soft surfaces are killing the airflow).
If it is a desktop, put it further away from the furniture or walls near it (really, that can help a lot).
Maybe try using OpenGL, that makes the game shift usage away from the CPU to the Graphics card, which can help.

If playing on portable devices, such as laptop, overheating is very common when doing rendering-oriented activities, and playing games is pretty rendering intensive. You could find one of those cooling bases for laptops or look up a guide on making a cheap cooling board from cardboard, cooling fans and USB cable.

Now, if you are on a desktop, this is most likely a malfunctioning fan. Open your PC case and check for dust covering the heatsink under the CPU's cooling fan or for dust in the other cooling fans.

If you are getting BSoD from playing on a desktop, then it is likely your graphics card are built into the motherboard, and therefore hardware rendering is to be avoided, as it uses more RAM than the graphics card is allowed to.

Also, i advise you getting a program named "SpeedFan". It is good to monitor the temperature and activity of all fans.

The OpenGL method worked for me, so thanks!

(BTW, I thought switching the display to OpenGL would work before I posted this. I AM PROBABLY A PSYCHIC)

EDIT: Since the problem has been resolved, can I have this locked?
