Even though I got Team Protoman, I love how sleek and awesome he is.

He taught me everything I knew. Also, he's SO pro, he can catch a wild Pokemon without weakening it~

Carefree and serious at the same time, and I love how wacky he and his games are

He was emo before it was cool. I love how gigantic his sword is and the way he keeps his cool no matter what situation he's in, Plus, he has a motorcycle. Can't really beat that. One of the most human video-game protagonists, imo. Also, he was one of the reasons I found Kingdom Hearts in the first place.

Favorite all-time video-game character, mainly because how much I identify with his personality. Perfect combo of seriousness, lightheartedness, and style.

I LOVE extremely elegant and classy characters such as this one.

Bowser, King of the Koopas.
I love his personality, and he used to scare me when I was younger. He's fun to fight and he's totally the best racer in Mario Kart 64.

Ridley, the Space Pirate General.
Awesome recurring boss is awesome. Tough to fight, fun to fight, and he's a dragon that never dies.

Garland, the Fallen Knight
Anyone who knows me knows I love two things the most. Knights, and villains. Garland is probably my favorite villain ever simply because he's so amazingly evil. He even transforms into the embodiment of chaos itself. Not to mention the memorable quote, "I, Garland, shall knock you all down!" What's not to love?

Mega Man (Mega Man)
Do I really need to use a picture of this?

Boilman - Megaman Forever
Why? Because not only does he have a great design and weapon, but his AI....figgin' hell, I can't think of a more realistic AI in any MM game at all! It's true that he only has two attacks, but when he'll attack and how he'll jump is not at all predictable. Whenever you get close to him, he'll always strike you with his flame sword. But best of all, this guy will actually dodge your attacks. And by that I don't mean Toadman or Crashman dodging, by this I mean if he is standing and a shot is about to hit him, he'll jump and avoid it, just like he should do! Even if you bounce back the fireball with deflect shield, he'll still dodge it!

Dimentio - Super Paper Mario
Everyone should know why! Great design, and hilariously evil plan that almost actually worked!

Roll - Megaman Series
Why not? She's incredibly cute and underrated!

Quickman - Megaman 2
Be honest, his stage and fight are both one of the most epic and manly stages/battle in the series. I fail to see why anyone would hate this guy. unless you're roahm and you're trying to beat him no damage

Yoshi - Mario Series
This is who I'm usually always playing as whenever I get the choice. No exception, Yoshi is my favorite video game character! I actually really hate it when the games make me fight him too!

#5: Adeleine; Kirby 64, The Crystal Shards

Oh, the unsung heroes of Kirby 64. She was my favorite character the entire time; she was helpful, she had a unique ability that needs practice to be executed well, and--like a lot of things in Kirby 64--it's sad she got left behind. Intertwine this with Ribbon if you wish; they were both really good characters.

#4: Geno; Super Mario RPG

Yes, fanart. Because his real art is so sad.
This guy is really in a boat similar to Adel--he appeared once, he had awesome powers, everyone loved him--then he vanished from history. Luckily, at least Nintendo is making strives to bring him back, as you can hear above.

#3: NiGHTS; NiGHTS

As a spiritual person in general, me liking NiGHTS so much is a little sentimental (even though I only learned of him a couple years ago). Like the other characters presented, he/she/it (Screw it, for simplicity I'm making it he) has a very interesting idea behind him. His powers are interesting, but his backstory just sold it for me. A mysterious guardian fighting nightmares for the sake of my good dreams? Suddenly I feel grateful. True shame he only has two games.

#2: Roll; Mega Man

Anyone who's been around me knows it's no secret that Roll is one of my favorite characters. Why is simple: she's a beautiful character with a great backstory that needs development to become even greater. Proof? Ask yourself this: "How do you think Roll feels about staying home and sweeping the floors while Mega Man goes out and saves the world?"
See? She's an interesting character. I think it's a terrible thing Capcom's ignoring Mega Man right now, because--by extension--they're ignoring her.

#1: Proto Man; Mega Man

Generic answer? Perhaps. But who cares? Proto Man has always been my favorite MM character (Roll coming right after), and this translated to being my favorite VG character. He's got a great backstory that really sells his "shady enigma" style, his powers are highly useful, and what makes him better than the others is that the producers didn't leave him behind. I only hope that the others notice their forgotten characters, and look for an opportunity to put them back in the spotlight, where they clearly belong.
