I agree with Tesseractal and Kapus.
I really don't see why the rest of you guys hates all "necro posts" so much.
I believe it is ok to bump older topics as long as the bumper gives out some somewhat useful info and/or has a good reason to.

Oh man, I have alot of memories from my childhood PC, PS1, GameCube, GameBoyColor, and GameBoyAdvance Games~

If I had to choose one off the top of my head, I guess it would be Crash Bandicoot.
From what I remember, it was one of the first 3D games I ever played.

Help & Editing / Re: The MM8BDM "how do you do that?" Thread!
« on: February 08, 2013, 05:44:21 AM »
Nice topic I guess.

Here's one thing I've been wondering for quite awhile now:

Is it possible to tell Zandronum to always auto load some wads AFTER the core MM8BDM PK3 file?
Kinna like how Zandronum always auto loads everything in the skins folder,
except everything that's in the skins folder gets loaded BEFORE the core MM8BDM PK3.
What I want is to always auto load some wads AFTER the core MM8BDM PK3.

Someone, please tell me this is possible.

Oh please no. I don't want entire threads with potential historical significance to be lost forever. :(

I agree.

However, what we might be able to do is delete most of the more useless topics (that alot of the times the newcomers would make) to free up quite a bit of space.
Though most of the times the mods lock those topics, I don't think activating any kind of auto-topic-removal/locking system would be such a good idea.
But I do think manually deleting the most useless old topics would be a good idea.

2012 was actually pretty good for me.

* I got to be a beta tester for the Portal 2 level maker D.L.C.
* I got to go to A-con in may (And while I didn't like it nearly as much as S.G.C. 2009 and S.G.C. 2010 it was still pretty good.)
* I got to have a pretty good 18th birthday (Best birthday I've actually had in years.)
* I got to upgrade my P.C. so I can play Team Fortress 2 and Portal 2
* I got to witness (almost first hand) SlyFox's spike in MM8BDM players
* I got to vote in the/a U.S. election for the first time
* I got to re-visit quite a few memorable places that I haven't seen in a long time

As for my resolutions?

* This year, I'm going to try to post more here on CutStuff and on the BlitzBasic forums
* This year, I'm going to try to contribute a good amount to MM8BDM
* This year, I'm going to try to appreciate the good weather outside more
* This year, I'm going to try to get a lovely girl friend
* This year, I'm going to try to play some games that I've been wanting to play/try for a long time now
* This year, I'm going to try to complete The Maze Guy before this next summer, That's right folks. IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN. THIS TIME I MEAN IT.

MM8BDM Discussion / Re: Ban Evader Alert: Unix

Here's one thing I'd like to point out,

The only way to FULLY impersonate someone in-game is to PERFECTLY copy their name,
this includes not just getting the spelling and colors correct, this also includes letter casings!
I notice sometimes imposters get some casings wrong so this might be one other way to imposter check.
I know that you can't see casings in-game, but you can see them on DoomSeeker and/or player/server lists.
So basically the next time something fishy goes on, check the server you're in on DoomSeeker.

Because yes.

* Face Palm *

You might want to give a better reason then that.  Just saying.

Anyway, reviving the MM8BDM wiki sounds like a good idea,
I don't think I can help much with it,
But at least I too support it.

No guys, the dispenser idea is unnecessary and it is a bit too much like Eddie and Screw Scramble.
One of the big mistakes this project made last time was adding an overload of unnecessary stuff.
Do you really want the project to make the same big mistake twice?
There are other better and simpler ways to add more goals into the game mod.
Like having new areas of the maps open up as the waves go on for players to explore.

I don't think COMPLETELY starting the project over again is such a good idea.
I think we could keep the 11 supposed finished original maps
and then maybe just add about 3 - 5 more maps for a first full release!

I also don't think SilverSin's dispenser idea is a very good idea. Mainly because it will most likely make the mod more complex than it needs to be,
and don't we already have a little guy named Eddie, and also a game mod called Screw Scramble?

The WWW board / Re: Megaman 8-bit Deathmatch Skype Family
« on: December 09, 2012, 04:54:28 AM »
Actually, we really could use some rebuilding for the Skype group chats as lately there has been quite some Deetards abusing their power in the chats.

How about we get some folks up top who are more pure, and really care about our community, and can accept other folks who have things like a different sense of humor,
and skill/status level from them, and they WILL NOT abuse their power. Is that too much to ask?

*cough* Kenkoru, ThatGuyOverThere, Nostalgia, LlamaHombre, Lego *cough*

Ok, so here's what I think needs to be done for this project in a nutshell:
Keep things more simple and pure.

Quote from: "T's Inventions"
It doesn't need custom weapons,
It doesn't need max wave counts higher than 15 waves or so,
It doesn't need the more "made up" enemy types,
And it doesn't need a total of 30 maps. (16-20 maps would most likely be alot better!)
Quality over quantity is key.

Even though this project did have it's flaws and problems, it really did have alot of potential!
I too am glad to see you are back and considering bringing project MMINV back to life!

I would also be highly interested with development,
as I am highly experienced with game development and modding.

But that was Messatsu.
Messatsu has become a little bit infamous for using code without asking first in his game mod(es)
while turning the original game mod(es) into unnecessary-feature-filled ones.

Oooh boy,  I've been waiting to see this topic for quite some time now.
For a joke map pack, this is pretty good and funny.
Eff dat m8kes annyeeee censeee  LOLZ

One thing I don't get is why do you have the map codes as MAP###?
Isn't there better map codes that you can name them?
Or are these just temporary map codes for the current beta builds and you will have better ones in the final/full version?

MM8BDM Discussion / Re: MM8BDM: Mega Man 8 Expansion Public Thread
« on: November 14, 2012, 06:59:17 AM »
One other thing I forgot to say my reaction to...

So apparently the weapon energy capsules and tanks are now going to change to
the colors of your current selected weapon just like in the original Mega Man games?

WHOA

What A twist!!!
I was not expecting the feature to be added ever at all!
I thought you guys would say:
"The capsules always being the same color makes them easier to spot in action, plus I don't think it's possible in the Doom/Skulltag engine"

How about we move this topic:
