The Robots are Revolting! (DOS Reborn) [V2A Released!]

Will the maps all contain new music? Looking forward to it either way!

For the first release, no. We will be using all of Kackebango's music initially. The hope is to replace it gradually as we release further versions, since they were made with the original designs in mind-- the only tune we will be keeping is the Wily theme he created, since he made that specifically for our project after I contacted him about making new music.

Oh boy, Sonic's older song would not fit the new stage look at ALL, glad to hear they are getting songs to fit their new looks too.

"In any case, I have no concrete release date to give out yet. In two weeks, however, I think I'll be able to give one out, so stay tuned for it."

It's been more than three weeks...

We did a round of testing a few weeks ago, and it took a little longer than anticipated for some people to make the changes that came up on account of people on the team having lives.  We're going to be doing some more testing soon, and we'll give out a date when we can.

Hey all you DOS Reborn fans!

Hoping to hear a release date? You're in luck! We've entered the final stages of polish for our Robot Master stages. The tentative release date will be October 12th (or next Friday, in more colloquial terms). Only 9 days till you're able to bust up some 'bots on 10 all new stages! Until then, stay patient! We'll see you then!

It's so relieving to hear that this might actually be a successful expansion unlike cough cough rocks most of them.

Hey all!  While you're waiting for the pack to drop, we're going to be spending this week showing off some of the content that we weren't able to before.  Let's get right to it!

These updates are going to follow a "Past, Present" scheme.  Each day, I (or Dood) will show off something that's changed with what we've previously shown off, and then a new, never before seen map!  First off, we have:

Volt Man!
This map's seen a major graphical overhaul since it was last shown off.  Duora did a fantastic job with the new set!

On to the new!

Dyna Man!
A close quarters map in spite of its sight lines, MMDDYN is the kind of map where you always need to watch your back.  Use the elevators around the stage to get a leg up on your opponents, or drop down from the upper floors to catch them off guard!

"But who're those dudes hanging out in the back of those screenshots," you ask?

Meet Lead Beard the Picrate, also known simply as the Picrate.  These guys like to get in groups and cheer on the competitors!

it's me again

Sonic Man!
A couple of well-known celebrities have scheduled a concert at Sonic Man's radio tower!  Meet the Mad Mets, Tom & GUI!

What's the performance about?  Beats me!

And now let's dive into the new:

Shark Man!
A joint effort between Magnet Dood and Thunderono (that's me!), with textures by Caprice, these sprawling caves are home to all kinds of robotic wildlife.  Duke it out in the dilapidated deep, or skirmish at the remains of a nasty shipwreck!





Let's take a closer look at some of the folks hanging around, shall we?

Careful, not all of the seaweed is what it seems!  These are Sea Metalls.  They're specifically designed to blend in with the surrounding plant life, while still maintaining the protection that a met would normally get!  It's, uh... really hard seaweed.


This wide-eyed fellow is an Anka!  They like to watch the action from above the waves, but they're pretty easily spooked.  If you get too close, they'll fall down!


These steel sea dwellers are SarDYNAs.  You'll see them swim by in large numbers from time to time.  Though they may not look like much, their jaw hides a pretty powerful cannon!

Hey, everyone! Magnet Dood here with another DOS Reborn: Past and Present update!

First, the past...

Some new workers have been spotted at Braze Man's smelting plant! Let's see what they're all about.



These guys are called Yocchans! They're outfitted with tough face-masks and a portable blow torch, which is useful for welding in hard to reach places (like sewer lines). They cheer on their boss, Braze Man, as he lights up the dueling scene!



These robots are Ototos! They dutifully carry buckets of hot slag from one section of the plant to another. Not even a robot uprising will stop their work... unless Wily's reprogrammed them to drop it on you! don't worry he hasn't

...and now to the present!

Welcome to Buoy Man's stage! This map (made by a combination of Magnet Dood [AKA myself], Korby, and Caprice) pits fighters on a ship in the middle of the ocean! Fight above decks as you take in the glittering sunset...



...or head below deck to sneak around the ship unaccounted for! This is a three-layered map, so while it might seem small at first glance, there's a lot of room to move around in!



The weather's not always accommodating on the high seas. Sometimes, the sky box will change to an overcast grey palette! When in doubt, look for the lighthouse shining on the horizon!
