The lack of vanilla servers is the reason I quit playing MM8BDM online. Every time I went to play, all that got played was roboenza. So now I just get the tech club at my school to do lan parties once a month.
When I get my desktop built, and upgrade my internet, I'm considering hosting a perm vanilla server.

Most common now seem to be Deathwind's PU Deathmatch and Classes, oh and Saxton Hale is getting up there. Though Roboenza is still common to see many people in early in the day.

I'm basing this statement off of over a year ago, when I quit.
Just came by the forums the other day, checking things out. Seems kinda dead.

Hey, Mike.  I don't mean to push my luck here, but would you be willing to add a friend of mine to the Whitelist?  She's trustworthy, but in the unlikely event she levels the town or something, I'll take the full brunt of the punishment for wanting her in in the first place.

I play on a server running 1.1, and logblock works fine. Only problem I have is it won't rollback creeper and ghast explosions.

I fail to see the problem, since those are "natural disasters".  LogBlock was created mostly to circumvent and roll-back griefing, not mob damage.  Granted, it's easy to say "User A lead an army of Creepers into town and set them all off one after another!", but that takes some seriously dedicated griefing. (I should know.  I used to "kite", or aggravate hostile, super-powerful mobs into cities in World of Warcraft back when I had a good connection.  It was fun!  But only if there were people around.  :x)

Edit: Houston, we have a problem.  The server -- the entire Cutstuff family of sites and the Minecraft server -- have become randomly unstable!  It keeps going down every time someone tries to do something!  I'm not sure if it's because of something someone's doing, or because of bad weather, but it really is frustrating considering I'm personally currently trying to navigate that chasm that claimed my entire inventory many moons ago. (The place still sucks.  Skeleton snipers on the ridges!  What the crap!  D:)

The creeper baiting actually happened, and god it was a pain to fix. Someone wrecked our spawn city that way.

Considering there is a logging thing now, i doubt they would get away with such for long, and otherwise maybe Cutman either installed a rollback thing or atleast he could hand out the rough amount of blocks most people lost in the destruction, if something really has to be done.

Was thinking those chests could be employed as an impenetrable blockade around something, but the person's name would be all over it and mike's Admin Axe(tm) crushes them as well.
So all in all i dont see much issues with locking chests except for claiming other people's chests, but his axe works for that too, he can just look at who owns the house it is in and ask anyone else to confirm that, as given the not so large community, most people should know eachother's places.

Logblock includes rollback, by area and by user. It also can log chest activity.

 Provided the dev build works with the latest version of Bukkit and Minecraft, it should be a fairly great deturrent to the rash of vandalism and theft we've been having.

Lockette looks nice, and I suggest using logblock too.
Also, do we really need door locking? They can't do anything just by entering your house, other than grief. Which I doubt a locked door would stop them at that.

urgh i think people are stealing again, someone has taken things diamond, iron etc and left an empty bottle and blaze powder.

We should have a lock plugin. Just make it a 5 chest limit or something, and have all others open.

Yeah.  That's it.  I'm done.  I can only put up with so much, but today?  Today was it.  Today was the last straw.

Creepers, I can handle.  I either run or hide.  Fine.  Spiders, I beat the shit out of.  Skeletons, the same.  Zombies, ignorable.  I can even work at replacing items I lose due to digging straight into a gigantic crevice.  But a surprise attack from DTMSphere?  Without warning, without challenge, without so much as a word?  That's one thing I am completely and utterly unprepared to handle, and in fact, refuse to accept.  So... yeah.  That's that.

Absolutely anyone, including DTM, is free to move into my cave (located just past brotoad's barn in the ice pond back there, marked by a circle of cobblestone tiles and a nearby Snow Golem sentry tower) and take what little crap I have, or set it on fire, or blow it up, or whatever they want to do with it.  I genuinely do not care.  I'm done with this server.  At least for a while.

Hm, is that website always like that? Didnt even load the first time. I dont know if Mike can log into there but perhaps its more usefull if you upload the file to something like mediafire, or any other file sharing site.

Hm, and the missing lifestock could be some weird-ass glitch, somehow over half my sheep where outside the pen when i was back from mining, just sitting around on the ice, the doors werent open either. Maybe i need to fortify the damn thing more, heh.
