Honestly, that's where all the stuff's going on. Lots of things you wouldn't see here on the forums, like Touhou.

I mean, if Discord didn't exist, it's likely we would all still be using the archaic combination of both Skype and the forums. It's also easier to just communicate over one medium instead of multiple ones. On the flip side, not everyone is either in or has interest in being in a discord group, so the forums still remain relevant.

Random bump that has almost no real importance;
I've been in the process of getting ready to move back to my hometown (hopefully) next year. It's only been 2 years I've been here but it's nice to go back... to what little family I have left.

Anyway my 8th anniversary of being on this hellhole is on the 22nd and I'm honestly debating weather or not I should make something special for it :megashrug:

Depending on where you go, people are already pointing and laughing. Really though, there isn't much use to the forums since everything tends to be discussed on Discord these days

They serve as a nice archive, at least: A good look at our former selves, and how we've grown and matured since then.

Also, good for releasing things. It's much easier to put up descriptions, screenshots, and credits for a project on an MB post than a Discord pin.

Not a very good archive while my avatar was broken , that file host I used went under a few years ago already and I never checked back here in the meantime.

Man, this feels really surreal; it's been quite a while. Definitely grown from my former self, and now in retrospect I question why I went with the "lol" gimmick/username in the first place

I miss internet forums, Discord is wack, become luddites and disregard technological advancement. I feel like sharing memories but I only have this single screengrab

To be fair, a decade ago we frequently used IRC AOL Messenger Skype, albeit it was a lot clunkier than Discord.

I know for me personally, trying to remember my early forum days or a few things during Skype are uncomfortable or outright cringe to me, and that's putting it lightly. People grow up, advancements happen, and things change. It's fine to be nostalgic for the old days, but outright ignoring improvements or taking what we have now for granted is a little naive.
