Announcing the new
Eddie Item - v1b

What is it?
Code: [Select]
This replacement for Eddie makes it so Eddie drops items instead of random weapons. It was born from an observation when playing MM10 on the way Eddie worked there.
Sounds great, but what exactly is different?

How do I run it?
Code: [Select]
Simply load the wad in the launcher.

You can add this to any other wad you like and it will replace only Eddie.

Be sure to check out the original example (http://www.cutstuff.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=81712#p81712)!

Interestin' Eddie nerf. What's a good combo of stuff that ya made that I could host together? Plenty of good stuff to choose, so give me a shot.

Thanks for your interest!

People seem to really like this Eddie thing with CTF at the moment. I might end up using the Duel list for DM as well, but we'll see given more playtesting. Another thing people have been suggesting is to keep the random weapon generator somehow. I may end up using Reggae for this, since the Eddie internal stuff for spawning weapons is left intact.

To answer your question I suggest doing the ?box mode and this on either CTF or DM mode. The order matters, so load ?box mode first then the Eddie replacement if you want the ?boxes and then Eddie to be actual Eddie instead of a red ?box.

Are you sure he dropped 4 items in MM10? I'm almost certain he always drops 5

Well, I hosted nrgydual v1a and Eddie Item in that order, however it seems that it had no effect on the weapons. I musta done somethin' wrong.

Yep you did.

?box wad is called 'nrgdm-v2a'. See also this post (http://www.cutstuff.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=65813#p65813).

He drops 4 'items'. If you analyze it statistically as I have been doing, on average the 5th thing he drops is not considered an item for the purposes of MM8BDM.

I may consider changing it later but probably not. I may even reduce the number of awarded items instead of increasing it as well.
