also i had a look again at that one bit of the selfie topic where i actually posted something, and i still can't believe people think i look pretty ;v;

8/10

That reminds me of something i've seen before, but I can't think about where I could have possibly seen something similar to that...

Also it doesn't appear all pixelly and weird on this Mac that I hafta use for school, so that's a plus

mega man 8-bit parallel universes

(click to show/hide)
okay, that first screenshot is normal. there's a copy of pharaohman next to the real map in order to make the pyramid exist
however, if you noclip past either of these copies, you'll find.... these

(click to show/hide)
(click to show/hide)
i'd say in order to explain these, we need to talk about parallel universes, except i can't even explain why this happens in the first place
these weird ghost copies of the stage are only visible at certain angles
they have no collision
and the entire stage is present, though the inside of the pyramid in one of these "pus" is kind of a boring

Mega Man Discussion / Re: Favorite Generic Stage Enemies
« on: October 02, 2016, 02:00:34 PM »
Two of my favourite stage enemies aren't really enemies, they're more like plaftorms

Guts Hover from Mega Man IV is very silly
its a guts man platform that gets mad when you step on it. it is very goofy

Move Hover from Mega Man IV is also very silly
it moves when you shoot it, and it makes a goofy face when being shot

There's also Mummira from Mega Man 4 (and IV), which is actually an actual enemy

it is very goofy

look at 'im go

And there's this beetle thing from Rockman & Forte: Challenger from the Future, that I don't know what it's name is because the Mega Man Wiki sucks and doesn't have any info on the RF2 enemies, but look at it's little dance!!

I haven't thought about what my favourite basic enemies in the Mega Man games are a whole lot, so there are probably a bunch more that I like, haha

I just realized that the versions of Atomic Fire and Power Stone in the arcade games are literally just Flame Blast and Water Wave

I wonder if they originally planned to put Flame Man and Wave Man in the games, but ended up replacing them with Heat Man and Stone Man?

I was on a Lovely Walk earlier today, and while I was walking, I thought about what my favourite Wily Stage themes in the Mega Man games were

These choices would probably seem odd if it were anybody but me choosing them, haha

I believe Charge Man Stage in Mega Man IV also has a similar screen transition
(I dunno, maybe even the NES MM5 version as well???)

I just noticed a neat thing
You all know the North American MM2 box art, right?
(click to show/hide)
A lot of people seem to mainly focus on the fact that it seems to depict Dr. Light sending the Robot Masters after Mega Man, but I noticed something odd about the environment around the characters

The box art depicts a stage with large steel platforms above lava, with walls that feature a design that prominently features hexagons, and there are large orbs in the distance
The area on the box seems to look more like a combination of Bomb Man Stage and Fire Man Stage, rather than any environments that are actually from MM2

That kinda makes it unique when compared to the other MM2 box arts, which all show the MM2 Skull Castle
(and, all the MM1 ones feature Dr. Wily's Robot Manufacturing Factory from that game)

Today, when I went to college, I purchased something at the college, haha
And guess what it was?
(click to show/hide)

yep, when I made my way from my first class, I saw a giant Yoshi in the distance, and went towards it to discover that someone set up shop inside the college with used games and plushies and stuff

So I dug up $23 dollars in spare "not for amiibo" money to get that
the tag says "not for ages 15 years and under"

Mega Man Discussion / Re: Is it just me...

While I haven't played a lot of Sonic Lost World, and I'm personally not too fond of Pac-Man World 3 (for the same reasons why I'm not too fond of Sonic Adventure 2), I can definitely see what you're getting at

I personally think Mega Man 8 is one of the best Mega Man games out there, haha
As I observed a while ago (dunno if I posted it here), but I looked at every single (non-licensed) platform classic Mega Man game, and I realized that
Pretty much all of them have at least one instance of a really annoying level design, or a boss that's only weak to a specific weapon, or a part of a level that requires a weapon use to pass, when you can very realistically be completely out of energy and with no way to replenish it, or revisiting a level could be a requirement for 100%, no matter what you do

While looking at each game (the 11 main ones and the 5 gb ones), I found out that Mega Man 8 is the only one that has none of that at all

the things i see people complain about in MM8, are the voices and the snowboard sections
disliking the snowboard sections just means you don't like new things, and it's the same as hating on SMB2 or Zelda II because they're different
and, well, sure, I could understand why people would hate the voices. I personally love them, and like them way more than their Japanese equivalents, but silly voices probably aren't everyone's cup of tea. voice clips and new gameplay should not be a reason to hate the game

Really, considering cutscenes and different gameplay are also why people hate Super Mario Sunshine, that game and Mega Man 8 have a lot of things in common, haha

wow, i wrote too much about megaman 8

EDIT: wow, new posts happening
Mega Man 7 is generally viewed to be horrible
this, and probably some of the MM8 (and MM&B) hate, is probably purely because they don't play exactly like Mega Man 2. I find Mega Man 2 to be really flawed and overrated, and the later games definitely improved on it. Sure, MM2 is a good game, but it certainly isn't the best game in the series

EDIT2: wow, i figured i'd say something stupid, whatever

From what it seems like, the college got a deal with Apple
Apple probably gives them money or something

Pretty much all my teachers actually really do not like Apple computers at all, haha

Also, with finding boxarts for the games on that emulator, I learned that
There are virtually no images of the Japanese boxarts for Punch Out!! and Super Mario Collection (AKA Super Mario All-Stars) anywhere on the internet
And, well, nobody's ever thought it'd be worth it to do scans of NES bootleg boxes, haha
Though, oddly, one of the NES bootlegs in my ROM collection actually automatically had its boxart applied (though it was from the wrong version of said game)

since my college requires me to lug around a macbook, i thought i may as well find a set of good emulators to play games on it, haha
And I ended up finding this one multi-system emulator, which not only emulates almost every console i would ever want to emulate (just missing arcade, gamecube, and wii), but it also has a very lovely interface!
(click to show/hide)
I kinda want to find a port of this interface for windows so i can use it with my set of emulators that I have

(also, yep, I totally have roms of all releases of each mega man game on hand at all times)
