It's been 5 years already.
I gotta say, that's quite impressive.
Started off as a little forum dedicated to Mike's unique Doom mods, and before the forum, it was just a personal blog.

I can't say the website has changed in those 5 years but the community is still very much alive. People have come and gone, and some people are still here from the beginning.
I still remember being super hyped for GvH :')

Use this thread to describe your relationship with this site.
And congratulations to CutmanMike establishing a whole community for 5 strong years.

I don't know how to do this. When I try, every class gets every weapon, even the ones that don't belong to their class.. What's the standard procedure to do this?

MM8BDM Discussion / Is MM8BDM dead yet? And is NS cancer to GVH?

I personally believe that MM8BDM is dying. The most players I ever see looking through Doomseeker never extends out from 1 server, this is different to how it was 6 months ago at this games peak. Back then, servers were sometimes full with 32 legit players which is actually rare anywhere in Skulltag. I think that the future of MM8BDM is done, there will be no more. It's over, unless people start playing more. Maybe people don't advertise enouph? Even though the Youtube vid on Cutmanmike's channel has a ton of views and the game is easy to setup. There's not many players. Even I don't play MM8BDM, I much prefer Doom, less spamming involved with weapons intended for a FPS game rather than a side scroller.

I personally no longer feel part of this community any more either, I'm not even that active any more. (I'm less active on the Doom side of Skulltag too). It's changed a lot since 2009 where the topics would be about Cutmanmike's mods such as GvH which is now a finished mod thanks to CarThief. (Unfortuatly cancer like the "The Nordic Saga" project is adding shit that GvH doesn't need or add better gameplay).

Another reason I don't feel welcome here: I feel uncomfortable around players that get offended easily.

MM8BDM Discussion / The present of MM8BDM

I believe that Megaman 8-Bit Deathmatch, the game, has almost died. Due to the lack of new players and old players spend their times modding or doing something else. Another reason is servers, if CutmanMike lol i blame u made MM8BDM run on the same Skulltag version as everyone else, then the big server hoster guys(and girls) would be able to host MM8BDM on top of all their Doom servers. European players such as me and CarThief (and Cutmanmike) can't play in a server with good ping, ever.

The community of Megaman 8-Bit Deathmatch, here on the forums is still growing somewhat and is always active. Most of the people on here are friendly and the moderators are always busy. Modders seem to be releasing projects every so often and beginners seem to show an interest on how to map.

It seems a little outdated because the current project and main attraction right now is MM8BDM. Maybe someone could design a logo staring Cutmanmike's fan bot??

W.I.P Forum / 4TCTF-CMP (4 Team Capture The Flag - Community Map Pack)

Since the recent support of 4 teams in MM8BDM. I've decided to lead a mapping project.

This map pack already has 5 quality maps. That doesn't mean I can't add more maps!

I've already made the textures, you can download them here:

I'll contribute only 1 map for this map pack and I hope this project gains interest.
This of course is for the CTF game mode, but with 4 teams.


If you submit a map to me, I'll do the one of the following:

Return it and tell you to improve it by x.
Stick it straight in the map pack.
Tweek it a little bit then stick it in.
Banish it into the fires of hell.

SV_MaxTeams = 4This needs to be set to have 4 teams, in the release version it will be forced on. This is just for when you are testing.

To teleport back to the hubmap, all players must spectate.

using Alexmax Duel-32's code as a base, I made Duel-32 MM8BDM edition.

A lot of this is my code now and the map is mine, I ripped/created most* of the graphics.
