Try unticking the testing binaries checkbox in the engine screen. That might be a step I missed in the tutorial but it worked for me on my computer.Well i got a problem here i just got this game...
Every time I try to open the .exe for doomseek, it keeps saying that I need to re-install the application to fix the problem. Any fixes?
I need to re-install the application to fix the problem.
I've followed the instructions and all that comes up whenever I click on a server is the launcher. am I missing something, problem started when the v1b update came out. :?
When I try to open DoomSeeker in the same folder that Skulltag's in, it gives me the following message: "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." And well, I've certainly reinstalled it. Any suggestions?Exactly what I have. I want to play MMinvasion.
File => Create Server.Don't just assume that!
Honestly, why did anyone need to answer this? Explore the darn client before asking.
Client binary cannot be obtained for game: Skulltag
No testing directory specified for Skulltag
Following files are missing: PWADS: Classes-4c.pk3 DO you want Wadseeker to find missing wads?
You can find the Classes mod in the Classes topic, of course. (http://cutstuff.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=1743)
Most large projects can be found in the "Projects" sub-forum in editing, Maps can be found in the Maps sub-forum, etc.
Do you know where I can download the v1c.pk3 patch? Thanks in advance.
Engine Skulltag, client executable:
C:Program FilesSkulltagSkulltag.exe is a directory or doesn't exist.
I keep receiving an error when I try to open Doomseeker after I extract it.

It'd be helpful if you told us what that error said.

You're missing the latest version of MM8BDM!Thank you!

You can get it there!
Okay, this is really weird. I can only get Odamex servers, no Skulltag servers. Could somebody help?
I might now the problem, try this:Quote from: "Human Destroyer"Okay, this is really weird. I can only get Odamex servers, no Skulltag servers. Could somebody help?
Yeah, same here but for me it's Odamex and ZDaemon servers.
I did that and no servers appeared at all...Quote from: "Bluebomber54"I might now the problem, try this:Quote from: "Human Destroyer"Okay, this is really weird. I can only get Odamex servers, no Skulltag servers. Could somebody help?

Look at the top of doomseeker and click Query>>Skulltag
It depends on what platform you are using doomseeker (Windows, Linux, Mac OS) so I can tell you a solution.
Try reinstalling it.No, I just tried it a ton of times and it's still not working.
And important in the testing binaries just uncheck the squareBy testing binaries do you mean testing releases? Because I already unchecked that....
Are you sure you have the paths to the skulltag binaries? And I'm a noob so i don't know what you mean unless you're talking about the path to the executable or file paths...
Haven't seen it mentioned in the last few pages, did you update your master server for skulltag to "master.skulltag.net:15300"?Ohhhhhhhhhhhh............It was that simple.........../me facepalms
Alright, I've done everything listed in this thread that I have read through, but, the game starts to load up, the good old Doom II Binary gets started, but then randomly crashes. This stumbled unto by having to move Skulltag around five times, getting the files, and having Doom Seeker problems have not bode well. I downloaded Doomseeker .7, could that be an issue?
Co-op server with the map set as MAP01: entryway
ive tried everything including changing the masterserver to the new one and i unticked the box and i still cant see any servers please helpIn doomseeker, did you try putting "master.zandronum.com:15300" and not "skulltag_masterip=master.zandronum.com:15300" ???
Please make sure you are using the exact same wad(s) as the server, and try again.
File: C:/Documents and Setting/Admin/My Documents/Downloads/MM8BDMv3a.zip cannot be runanybody know what the problem is? if it weren't for this, I would probably actually play on servers sometimes instead of just campaign.
i have v1a installedThere is your problem! go and grab V3a right now!
Untick the option to use testing builds in the skulltag engine configurationI don't have skulltag, or atleast I can't find it.
Hi, noob pyro here. I can't seem to connect to any server. any advice? Yes, I went through the tutorial.
Connecting to [IP]...
Then my best guess is that Zandronum is being blocked by a firewall or similar. Are you sure Zandronum is being allowed through any firewall/antivirus programs?
WHAT IS DOOMSEEKER?
Doomseeker is a Doom Port Server Browser, which gives you a list of all available servers for Zandronum, Skulltag, Odamex, Vavoom, and ChocolateDoom. Don't worry, we'll only be using one of them: Zandronum.
WHY DO I WANT DOOMSEEKER?
Doomseeker is amazingly convenient and fast compared to the internal browser.
How to use the internal browser:
Load MM8BDM.
Navigate through the clunky browser.
Get server info.
Download all missing wads manually.
Reload MM8BDM with wads manually.
Navigate to server.
Connect and play.
How to use Doomseeker:
Load Doomseeker.
Select server.
WADseeker automatically downloads all missing wads for you.
Connect and play.
Doomseeker is easily ten times faster, so once you've installed it, you can get right into multiplayer games and frag away!
INSTALLATION GUIDE:
I will update this with pictures and/or video ASAP to make the process more user-friendly.
1. Download and install. http://doomseeker.drdteam.org/
2. In "Query" in the toolbar, uncheck everything but "Zandronum". This makes querying slightly faster and slims down your results.
3. In "Server Filter" (The funnel), enter "megagame" in the field labeled "WADs". This excludes servers hosting Doom, Doom2, HeXen, and other games running on the same engine.
4. In Options > Configure > Engines > Zandronum > Path to executable, navigate to wherever MM8BDM was extracted to and select "zandronum.exe"
5. MAKE SURE that "Masterserver address" is "master.zandronum.com:15300" without quotes.
6. Uncheck "Testing Releases" if it's checked.
7. In the same Configure menu, select "File paths". Select the folder you extracted MM8BDM to and ensure that you put all .pk3 and .wad files in that folder.
8. In the same Configure menu, select Wadseeker > General. Select the folder you extracted MM8BDM to under "Directory where Wadseeker will put wads into". Wadseeker automatically downloads mods for you that you don't have.
9. In Wadseeker > Sites, ensure you have the following URLS in the large white field. If you don't, copy and paste them into the white bar below and click "add". These are the two most-used sites for MM8BDM, though some very obscure mods may use other sites.Code: [Select]http://www.best-ever.org/wads
10. Hit "Get servers" (Double red down arrow). A list should show up.
http://wadhost.fathax.com/e107_files/downloads/wadseeker.php?search=%WADNAME%
11. Try connecting to any server with the only wad listed being "MM8BDM-v3a.pk3"; one server as of the time of writing this is ":: [BE] New York :: MM8BDM CTF".
12. If you connect, Doomseeker is set up!
13. Try a server with another mod; use ":: [BE] New York :: MM8BDM TLMS" as a test, this server won't be running any private beta test mods.
14. If you complete the downloads from Wadseeker and connect, Wadseeker is also configured correctly and Doomseeker should be working perfectly. Go wild.
A list of dedicated servers to basic game modes can be found here (http://cutstuff.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=5229).
FAQ:
No servers are popping up, and there's a message saying I'm banned from the Zandronum Master Server! Why?
Sometimes, the Zandronum Staff needs to ban a range of IPs to keep a known cheater or troll out of the servers. Sometimes, players get caught up in these ranges and are banned before they can even play. If that happens to you, follow these instructions and you'll be unbanned. (http://cutstuff.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=4664)
Now that you've installed Doomseeker, feel free to use this post for any questions you have about Doomseeker Tech Support!
I can't find the .exe file for Zandronum.Can you help me,CutmanMike? :?
Quote from: "sa173533"I can't find the .exe file for Zandronum. Can you help me,CutmanMike? :?
It's where you've installed 8BDM to.
>Script error, "MM8BDM-v4a.pk3:actors/player/megaman.txt" line 65:
Invalid state parameter a_scalevelocity
You need to set up a path link to your Zandronum file. There should be a category in the Configure section labeled Engines, and check the settings for Zandronum.
Also, a quick look at the previous pages of this thread could've answered your question:Quote from: "sa173533"I can't find the .exe file for Zandronum. Can you help me,CutmanMike? :?It's where you've installed 8BDM to.
Your "Path to Executable" needs to point to Zandronum.exe.
Well, you're pointing Doomseeker at your MM8BDM zip file instead of Zandronum.Exe. In Options -> Configure -> Engines -> Zandronum, there should be a field labeled "Path To Executable". Navigate to where you extracted MM8BDM to and select Zandronum.Exe. Once you do that, try to join a server.
You only need to double click a server in Doomseeker and it'll load Zandronum, along with MM8BDM, which will automatically connect to the server.
Spending more than 3 seconds looking at the page/program could of answered your question before you even asked it.
Look at that French. That would be really nice, btw I speak spanish and sometimes have problems when writing posts. Luckily I've got a really good english knowledge compared to my friends (I can barely understand them xP), so I don't think you should add it to the forum as soon as possible
Well...
speaking of involving multiple languages, will we ever have translation patches?
Do I need to download the new Zandronum and replace the old one somehow ? Is MM8BDM even compatible with 1.2.2 ?Yes and Yes.
I can't get the second thing to add itself in, and whenever I try to load up a server, it just puts me in the menu.Best-Ever does not use that one. It (almost) always uses the latest version.
The reason it won't let me is because of the zandronum version my MM8BDM game came with.
Although in the tutorial it says you need to setup the "exe" path I have a client binary and server binary, these are not mentioned in the tutorial so I just put: "C:/Users/owner/Downloads/MM8BDM-v4c/zandronum.exe" for both
I'm still not getting any servers after following the tutorial, anyone got any tips?
What version of Zandronum do you have? It should say it on the MM8BDM window whenever you open it and the servers are using 2.1.2(click to show/hide)
Also, make sure you have the path set to the right Zandronum executable, which should be placed inside your MM8BDM folder.
someone can help me? i configured my doomseeker and all is ok, then i closed my doomseeker because i I had to leave. later, when i opened the doomseeker again, all servers vanished! pls someone help meTry refreshing it. If that doesn't work, just reclose it and reopen it.

There are usually some servers that don't respond that can safely be ignored, but you should also be getting good servers as well. Are you querying the Zandronum Master Server?
Hello Cutstuff Forums staff, greetings fron Argentina! :)That's because TSPG is gay and now all of their servers need Zandronum 3.0-Alpha (170416-0710), You can get it over at the Official Zandronum Website (http://www.zandronum.com/download), it should be under the Development Builds tab, If i were you, i would just wait untill V5B comes out this monday, but if you really wanna play, feel free to download (Remember to make a copy of the old version too because 3.0 doesn't allow free look in single player), I Hope i helped.
When I try to enter to a server, Zandronum always says that I need the latest version of the program, even though I updated it multiple times.
I hope you can reply to me soon :)

What did the screen say at the bottom when it first came up?It says ''Failed connect. Your version is different.''
Try redownloading Zandronum 3.0 https://zandronum.com/download. Doomseeker being out of date wouldn't prevent you from joining servers, to my knowledge.I got one server to work after i redownloaded Zandronum though others didnt work but i think that might be due to them requiring linux or version 3.0-170901-1140 (When i redownloaded Zandronum i get version 3.0-Alpha)
At the end of step 4, I'm unsure whether the funnel icon is on the best ever website, or in the doomseeker application.Doomseeker application. Best-Ever is dead, so the main WADSeeker website is:
http://static.allfearthesentinel.net/wads/
Another problem when attempting to download files for servers, downloading often stops and says "All done. Fail" in the bottom text box. That usually means the files couldn't be found or downloaded. Make sure Doomseeker is updated and has the proper WADseeker websites (the most recent version of Doomseeker has working sites as its defaults).
Hopefully last problem, when attempting to update doomseeker within application, the update always fails. :confused:In that case, delete Doomseeker from your PC and manually download the newest version.
hrm... i seemed to do all the steps right... but still i can't see any 8bdm servers out there... :C
