Title: [Weapons Expansion] Dark Man and Fake Man

Hey, as a Mega Man fan it has always made me mad that after you beat Dark Man in Mega Man 5 you don't get a weapon. Then in Mega Man 9 they do not give you a weapon for beating Fake Man. Here is what I had in mind. Lets make those weapons in death match. Because I really suck at programming I need your help so here is what I had as an idea for the weapons:

Plasma Field:
The energy drains from it while it is activated
Acts as Dark Man's shield does
initial shot activates the shield, every shot after shoots the shield in front of and behind the player

Fake Cannon:
Essentially a stronger Mega Buster
Shot strength would take off 3 bars instead of 1 and shoot faster
Energy: 1 shot per bar

These ideas are very open to change so if you have an idea feel free to speak up!

Have you taken a look at the weapon making tutorial thing yet?
You could always start making them yourselves and sending them to someone when you cant quite get it to do something.

I had tried to figure out the weapons tutorial but had no luck at all with it.
I realize that it was a rather lame expansion which is why I named it what I did. The only reason I put it in that category was because that seemed to be the most appropriate place at the time.

If these ever come out, will you put them in an LMS rotation? I'd love to see these beside the 8-10 pack, V, and PU weapons. (If a patch is made by someone that is...)

My hope would be that if these ever do get made (crossing fingers) that they would be made available for people to do whatever with. (Hopefully into the actual game...even though that is very unlikely).

But I do have a general 2D image of what this should look like.

Dark Man's weapon is called Plasma Field, according to the Ruby Spears cartoon.

If anyone feels gutsy enough to try making these be my guest. I have continued to have no luck at all at even beginning to try to make these myself. Even if we end up with 5 different versions of the same weapon, we can then sort it out and figure which one is the best.

I have a very rough idea for the icon and am not sure where to get the sprites for the FPS view. If I can get the template of the sprite I know the color scheme (assuming that what you are talking about is the buster image) and I will try to get you the Icon as soon as I can.

The HUDs can be done with coding in you're using buster/throwing animations....

I found that sprite by searching in Bing! I did not think to check if it was the right coloring. I will get on to changing that!

The dark man buster is already technically in game. You just have to edit it a bit to get it to do what you want.

I think I might do plasma field. But do you want a buster instead? You can have both the shield and a buster for this one if you like.

Presently, I'll say no. The reason being is that I want there to be a little more strategy to the weapon. Essentially, make it so that the first shot activates the shield and every shot afterwards shoots the shield out like a projectile. Once it gets to a certain distance, it come back. So some strategy will be needed to decide when to shoot it and when to use it like Fire Man's weapon (because it encircles you in flame.

Just best if I knew a few things first:
-How much ammo should it have
-How is the ammo used?
-What do you want it to say when you kill someone?

-I was thinking that it would slowly run down while it is around you. 1 bar to activate and 1 bar to shoot. While it is not around you (after it is shot and before it gets back to you) it shouldn't drain.
-Take some liberties with that or feel free to take suggestions. I don't have any ideas or preferences for that.

Are you accepting alternate ideas for the weapons? I always thought since Fakeman's weapon looked like a simple shot, it would be more related to a Mega Buster like weapon (all around infinite ammo). It would probably be like a buster power up, Bass's is the machine gun, Proto's was the big hitter that takes hits, and Fake would be a sniper which shots move faster and has a little more punch compared to the normal buster. Since his weapon only allowed him to shoot 6 shot before he reloaded it could have the same function here. I have the weapon made if you want to try it.

Extract the .pk3 file from the .rar file

to get it in-game, open the console and type give all

scroll through the weapons, you'll eventually find it

I had a readme in there that explains, what lego said either give all or you can type give fakerevolverwep to get just it. Sorry for the confusion.

Fantastic! That works great. The gun sprite might need a little touch up (maybe) but that is excellent. Now we just need Plasma Shield.

Trust me I know my hud needs to look better (I hate making them) but the main point was the weapon and I'm happy you liked the idea.

Now I guess my next question is this... since this basically is a buster upgrade (at least I'm thinking of it as such) do you want it to do what the other buster upgrades do when you use them (they remove the other busters like if you use proto it removes the bass or mega buster) or do you want it to still keep those busters considering it is a "Robot Master" weapon. I'm leaning toward the first choice but I wanted to see if people wanted it differently or not.

hmm. That is an interesting question. My initial response is yes to the first one but I think that because he is a robot master that he should be just another weapon.

After thinking about this for a while, I am pretty sure that it should replace the main buster because it has infinite ammo.

Plasma field shouldn't take too much effort, considering it's already pretty much coded into Darkman's boss weapon.
