Archie Mega Man Comics
« on: February 10, 2012, 03:08:34 PM »
Having read the Mega Man Megamix and Gigamix mangas, I liked reading the various adventures of Mega Man, and I was looking into Archie's Mega Man comics. Does anyone know if it can be subscribed in the UK? And if so, would it be worth it?

that's really for you to decide. the megaman wiki, MMKB, has screen shots of the first few pages of some issues. they look pretty good to me.

Well since the topic is made I think I'll say this, apparently the people at Archie said they plan on using everything Megaman they can, and have stated the Dimensions specifically were mentioned in who they plan on having in the comic.  Also Quint apparently will be serving the role of Forte until Forte appears.

Archie unveils their first original robot master: Quake Woman!

http://www.rockmancorner.com/2012/02/co ... -mega.html

What do you guys think of that? I'm looking forward to this story arc, it seems likes its the first deviation from the Mega Man story where we'll get to explore deeper things, such as "Do Machines have souls?" which I think is one of the cooler themes underlying the entire Mega Man Lore.

If Archie continue to do more original stories in between the offical game plots, I think it'll continue to be a fun and exciting comic. Mega Man games don't usually explore the personalities and motivations of the characters in the series. This is a fine insight into how Mega Man and the others think and feel.

And thank heavens for things like Comixology. Without apps on Android Smartphones, there would never have been any other way for me to get ahold of the Mega Man comics. Except for waiting many many months for each Graphic Novel.

I just hope it doesn't turn into a Sonic and veer off into "original character soap opera festival" territory.

After reading the MM1 saga (which I proudly own) I was excited for more, let's hope Archie doesn't manage to muck it up.

The latest issue I've received is #10. Are #11-14 done?

If you post how much you love Mega Man 2 at Capcom-Unity, you might win some free issues!

Nurgh why do I have to sign up to post

Mega Man 2 is pretty darn great, I'll admit. It sucks that people only use the Metal Blades, though- the other weapons are useful, too!

But of course they pick that game- why can't they choose 4, or 5, or 6, or 7? Even 8 would be nice! Mega Man 2 is really fun, I'll admit, but I love the last three on  the NES a lot more. (Well, maybe not six as much, but it's still better than the laggy mess that is three.)

I think it's because they'll probably shift to the MM2 storyline in the comics since I don't *think* they've gotten that far.

Issue #9 started the MM2 story.

It'll be a while until we get into MM6.

I'm looking forward to Archie MM3 too, Issue 9 ProtoMan starin' in the window at the end, and he looked super mad, don't you think?

I've managed to get my hands on Volume 1 (issues 1-4) and Volume 2 (issues 5-8). I enjoyed it! It gets hilarious at times, like the sarcasm some of the characters come up with, as well as the "Short Circuits" section (lol at Bad Box Art Mega Man, as well as Bass demanding to show up. Also, Time Man acting as alarm clock; Guts Man smashing him; EPIC WIN).

I look forward to more, such as Quake Woman (who's she?) and Mega Man being unable to defeat Air Man.
