Title: Mega Man 8-bit Deathmatch V5C - RELEASED!
Post by: CutmanMike on October 22, 2017, 04:11:09 PM

Time for a new version once again! This time we've calmed down a bit and didn't decide to remake half of the singleplayer campaign . V5C is mostly a bug fix/cleaning update as a lot was changed in the previous version and many annoying little bugs came with it. Meanwhile Zandronum 3.0 actually got released, so the final updated Zandronum version is included instead of some random beta build. In terms of new content, Pirate Man and Clown Man's maps have been completely remade! Check out the notes below for more details.

Change Log

Here is a more detailed change log. It does not include all minor changes and fixes.

What a shame that I couldn't contribute to this

Does this mean that v6 will be next year?

Cutman Mike, is there anyway you can have all the other boss fights from the MM games in there and add an optional 4 player co-op for campaign with monsters (like a regular MM game) added please? Also, i will say this game is AWESOME!!! i was waiting for a 1st person shooter of this for a very long time. my son and i are always playing this game.

Oh, the bug I submitted is in this, that's nice. Wasn't expecting a new version to come out this soon, though...

For one half of this request, here's the Mission Mode mod (http://cutstuff.net/forum/index.php?topic=11020.0) for your optional 4p co-op needs.

Take the "zandronum-*username*" file from your v5b folder and paste it into your v5c folder.

I recently downloaded v5c, and for some reason I cannot get the multiplayer (at the very least offline skirmish) to work properly. Sometimes it's just the bot that's broken (often spawns on top of you and otherwise completely ignores you), and other times the game stops completely with the console covering the entire window with the message "no player 1 start". Is there any way to fix this?

It sounds like you're trying to start the round in Cooperative mode. In the Offline Skirmish menu, change the Game Mode to Deathmatch [or whatever mode you're trying to play].

Hey CutMan Mike. Is There any way you guys could add an updating system into mm8bdm please? I hate having to replace what I already have for a more up to date copy and losing all of my progress in the process.

If you paste in the new files over your old ones, you can update the game and still keep your saves, and settings.

Your posts there are legit nonsensical, hence the person in the one is saying he has no idea what you are trying to say.
From the looks of it you have a poll in 2 games on a sight not related to 8bdm at all about use adding Dynasty Warriors characters as the boss for 8bdm, which wouldn't happen anyway due to 8bdm being MEGA MAN content.

Yea I gathered that much, which makes no sense, cause again there is no such thing as DWxMM and 8bdm has content based on actual MM games.

Yes, but the story of 8bdm is based on official mega man games, and its content is based on such, not even SFxMM is going to be in the core game.

I have a suggestion for V7 (even though V6 is not out yet). Why not include Ra-Moon from Super Adventure Rockman?
It's an alien computer, so I think it could be included into the story rather well as some kind of secret weapon that sends Ra-Thor and Ra-Devil after the player, before attempting to destroy them itself, not suceeding in the end, and, in a last ditch effort to annihilate the universe, re-awakens Sunstar, the doomsday weapon. It would be nice if Sunstar was stupidly difficult but still comprehensible enough that the players could quickly understand what to to. The bosses until here have been difficult, but actually satisfying to beat, that's not a thing that even classic Mega Man makes me feel. It works, so why not go all out with it?
I hope this idea has inspired you in some way, but I don't want to force into doing what I say or anything.

As for Mega Man 10 (aka V6), just do it how you did Mega Man 9, obviously, you've done it before, you are totally able to do it again! ;)
That, and, of course, add an indoor spa.

But the MM8BDM Dev Team needs to determine what to do regarding potential Mega Man 11 content and how they approach its integration. For all we know, the MM5GB content might get saved for V8 rather than V7.

Yeah, I've been thinking of Mega Man 11 too. Honestly, I don't have high hopes towards it's inclusion in 8-bitDM. It would a heck ton of work! And how would you implement the Double-Gear System? You can't just pass it up, it's a key component of the game. Sure, people will make skins, and, who knows, even classes, but I don't think Mega Man 8-bit Deathmatch is going to go any further than V7 with the Stardroïds.

Also, I take it that nobody cares about my suggestion...I don't like feeling ignored... :(

If MM11 ever gets added into 8BDM, it's likely to be after Version 7 drops, which will be the MMV update.
Also, and just to keep it brief: Dynasty Warriors characters in any context would be extremely out of place in the Mega Man universe.
