Help & Editing / Mouse Sensitivity
« on: May 23, 2017, 05:12:37 PM »
I'm trying to convert my mouse sensitivity from counter strike to 8BDM. To my understanding counter strike's source engine is based off the quake engine, which is in turn based off the doom engine. They all supposedly use the same method for reading mouse input and settings, so I was hoping it would be 1 to 1. However, when I use my source engine sens at the same yaw/pitch and mouse_sensitivity the crosshair barely moves. I was wondering if there was an exact conversion factor or method to find one. I am sure that no mouse accel is involved in either case.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Team BasedSnackage had an appetizer to kick off our tourney bracket.

Map 1:
MM3MAG
BasedSnackage's pick
BasedSnackage 2 - Marksman Hunters 0

Map 2:
MM8SWO
Marksman Hunters's pick
BasedSnackage 2 - Marksman Hunters 0

After Jak got in gear, the matches were fast-paced fun. Best of luck for the rest of the tourney!

Obvious or not its something to go on.
Besides the fact that Ceridran voted for me completely randomly and that I wouldn't really be threatened enough to risk counterkilling, you apparently didn't need anything to go on to vote for me before Ceridran even died. I'm not necessarily saying you're suspect yet and I can see how I'm the only one that's actually relevant right now, but I'm just saying that the logic for suspecting me doesn't really hold up at all.

With that said, I'll be abstaining since there are no real leads as Rui pointed out.

MM8BDM Discussion / Re: User accounts and MM8BDM: What can we make of this?

As soon as I saw this I thought of more accurate and balanced teams with collected match data so that a new or inexperienced player isn't given the same team weight as a skilled veteran. I'd imagine this would also make it easier to counteract odd playercount stack by simply balancing teams appropriately based on match statistics of skill and experience. This usually isn't a problem, but sometimes a lot of experienced players end up on one team and I think that this could be used to resolve that. Maybe I'm being hypercompetitive about it, but that's my take on it regardless.

I like how my regular townie character is better than Rozark's regular mafia character with nearly 2-1 townie to mafia ratio just because I had an ability in the first place

... Ivory did you kill me after I was right about starting the Hilman vote <_<

Voting geminibro from my own suspicions as well as those of Ivory, apparently

Every possible person I had ever given any thought to is now dead

Thanks ;-;

I'm of the mindset of my previous post that mafia is content in sitting back and doing nothing, so Ivory and Smash are less likely to be mafia in my view than Hilman, Rui, or Raveman. My vote goes to Hilman arbitrarily because there are no good leads and lack of action just gets mafia the win. The fact that I've posted and pointed out how a relative lack of activity may indicate mafia hopefully clears me from mafia, and as much as I hate to guess, doing so at least gives a higher chance of townie victory by means of luck than abstaining.

I really just think everyone's logic holds up and can't really bring myself to vote off anyone specifically :/

There are several players, such as Awb, Rui, and Mendez, that haven't really given anything to go off of, and I think the people who haven't posted are more likely to be mafia because they don't really want to draw attention to themselves. I'd think townies would have more urgency to get voting before mafia picks all townies off, so in my opinion this whole Knux/Ivory debate is a losing battle for all townies. My logic might be completely broken because I have nearly no mafia experience, but I think focusing on others for "hostility" is counterproductive because the "hostile" people are (in my estimation) townies who have the most urgency to not get lynched by mafia. I think it would be better to focus on those who haven't really posted at all because they'd be content in picking off townies one by one while the townies kill each other in the process.

I'm abstaining I guess because nothing's really happened as of now.
