Wolfenstein 3D is maybe outdated because "only horizontal" geometry, but at least, its a maze and still more interesting than those linear sniping shooter....
like a guy said "with some nextgen fps, the solo is like when i do some shopping, nothing who is really like a challenge....
Shooter who are too more realistic become more a simulator than a fun game anyway'.....people forget what is a videogame sometimes.

I use the mouselook for doom but i don't abuse it (specially for the last boss on each wad), Brutal DOOM make it cool (:

I'll be honest, the new Shadow Warrior is looking better than the new Doom.

It seems! Yes, but the next DOOM will be certainly good, maybe a little more with the gameplay of Quake (No 4 shotgunners killed with 1 ssg shot) but anyway, can't wait those games!  
I hope it will help, bored to see only modern green military shooter.... :/ need more fps who are original and not just bullet type.

To be honest, I'm playing a Wolfenstein 3D total conversion of GZDoom.

Mainly for two things, being able to use an Xbox Controller with it and so that I have a map.

Nice, does it change the gameplay style? or it's like the original game?
I haven seen a DOOM64 mod for DOOM2, not sure if it's the same thing for what you say

It matches the original gameplay to a T (though the blood splats and bullet puffs are still there, I had to mod that out). The main difference is that you can actually strafe properly now. Otherwise, you still have lives and points just like in Wolf 3D.

The version I'm playing has all six missions of Wolf 3D, as well as Spear of Destiny and its mission packs, Return to Danger and The Ultimate Challenge.
