You can't change the controls as far as I know besides switching what z and x do.
Well, I guess we wait until Tsuki shows up and tells me how to modify the game; which is something I looked for but didn't really find.

He's using a keyboard, what help would joy2key be?
Not only that, I just want to play Rockman 8, not read some guy's meaningless, cryptic, condescending comments! This looks much more fun than the actual MM8 but I can't play it unless it lets me map a key to Shift or CAPS. I can't play Cave Story any more for the same reason. :

v2.93 Released.

Grenade Man and Tengu Man have been reworked.

And personally, I find Grenade Man really fun to fight now.

I would really love to beat this version of the game but it's very difficult, yet fun, and the power ups last only when you die.
Large Energies don't restore as much as I remember from the other 8-bit's.

Don't even get me started with the checkpoints XD

By the way, WHERE IS THE IMAGE FOLDER!?

I looked in the beta_2.93 or whatever it was, and there was no image folder which means no modding!

And the debug for bosses borkes me.

Upon hitting the ground, the window doesn't respond.

Hi, Karate Cat X! Any progress for my requested tileset? You could post the current progress in the rockman 7 fc topic. By the way, Rockman 8 fc Has a pallette for all sprites, so it's gonna be a little annoying to mod it. Like if the sprite has no green colour on it, then you cant paste in the sprites, that have the green colour.

I'm pretty sure the large energies still restore the same amount as they always have--10 units.

They did nerf the Mega Buster a few versions ago, which bugs me.  It actually does less now than it does in the PSX version.  The proof of this is the round cannons (I believe some proof is needed apart from bosses, since the energy bars in the PSX version are solid bars so it's difficult to tell how much damage is actually being done).  In the original, they took three shots or one fully charged shot, but in the FC version a fully charged shot alone won't destroy them, yet they still take three normal shots.  I assume they did it to line up RM8 with RM7, but I don't think it should have been done.  Oh well.  I guess it adds some challenge to the game.

I do feel like this game still has a ways to go before it's perfect.  I enjoy it, but it just doesn't quite feel right yet.  RM7 feels much better than this one does.  Perhaps they're trying too hard to incorporate the many PSX gimmicks of RM8 into the FC version and it's just not coming across as well as one would hope.
